Ebay has changed for the worse !!!!!!
I have been buying and selling on ebay for 14 years and have never had a problem with their customer service until today. If I called with any problem such as delivery taking to long or seller shipping out too late , Ebay has always refunded and then dealt with the seller. I asked a seller I wanted a refund because the item was in transit for over 10 days and wouldn't make it in time and the seller told me to wait for the item and then get a label and return it !!!! And the idiots at Ebay agreed with that !!!! I put in a request and I have to pay for the return label !!!! I had to argue with Ebay for 20 minutes and they REFUSED a refund until the item was returned and then the seller (who I had bad dealings with) decides to refund. UNREAL. Now it is my problem to return and pay for a label and wait till God knows to get my refund. The person ,who was hard to understand anyway, kept repeating their policies and refused my request. I will NEVER BUY OR SELL ANYTHING ON EBAY. They suck ! Suspend my account, close it completely if you would.

·2 years agoWait.
You did get the item?
If it arrived after the last estimated arrival date, you can still make a Not As Described claim and get your refund.
The seller will have to send you a Return Shipping Label or abandon the blanket*.
When the disputed item is back with the seller, you will be refunded.
*How can it be urgent to have a blanket by Easter? Is it made of chocolate?

·2 years agoBoth the seller and eBay are correct @texan4ever as that's eBay Money Back Guarantee policy:
If your item arrives after the latest estimated delivery date, you'd simply
- click Return this item to start a return request
- select "The item didn't match the listing"
- get that prepaid label you need
- and get your refund.

·2 years agoThe past few months I've noticed first classmail is now taking 2x as long - I could mail a payment and it would be a 3 day process, now it is lucky to be receieved in a week - I can't plan my bills anymore. A forcing mechanism to force me to use electronic payment.

·2 years agoI understand your frustration but why would you hold the seller responsible? It sounds like you want the item for free. You can see the tracking is not the sellers problem. We trust but verify.
In the real world, delays happen in the mail. Dalys happen on the highway. Delays happen trying to get out the door. Why a seller should give away their item because of that is beyond me.

OP2 years agoI didn’t want anything for free . Send prepaid label , like I have done as a seller, and all would be fine

OP2 years agoSorry “best answer†was not what I wanted to say, Thank you all for your unwanted responses. My item was over 10 days late and I contacted the seller 4 or more times so I think I had patience enough. Plus , yes, back a few years ago EBay did refund me for an item that was stuck in transit and arrived days after the fact and I was told to keep it. And yes I got ahold of that seller to repay the money. Like I said I have been on eBay over 14 years and their customer service has definitely changed. This women would not budge with me and I have never had that happens. Just letting my frustrations out no need for comment

·2 years agoYour time with eBay is never used to determine the results of a refund or return.
If your item was shipped with USPS. USPS has had their share of delivery problems and many times unfortunately, eBay purchases are arriving late. As a seller myself , I see items arriving later than expected quite often.
This delay is not in the control of the seller.
You may have been able to contact eBay in the past for a refund, but that is not how it works anymore.
Customer service agents don't have the authority to issue refunds and was correct in not "budging".
With eBay's Money Back Guarantee you have to go to the item in your purchase history, click the drop down menu next to the item and click the reason for refund request "I didn't receive it". But since the item was still in transit you are not able to because that reason won't be available. As shown in the first image below.
When the item has past the estimated date of delivery by one day you could go back to the order you want a refund for then you will be able to choose "I didn't receive it" as a reason for the refund.

FYI, if you choose Best Answer by mistake, you can click the arrow just above the time stamp, and a drop down menu will open ... one of the choices on that menu is to turn BA off.
When you click the Reply button, it disappears and the Best Answer button jumps over into the vacated spot. If you take too long a press on the mouse button, it's possible to get sort of an "extended click" and activate the BA button. I don't doubt the same thing would happen on a smart phone by letting your finger linger overly long.

·2 years agoThe seller claims they let you keep the blanket for free after ranting at them for the item being stuck in transit... because it didn't arrive in time for Easter? They also noted that the situation was well beyond their control, as anyone with common sense would agree.

OP2 years agoOnce again, thanks for your unwanted comments. I didn’t ask for your option. Did you contact them for me? Wow you have a lot of time to do stupid stuff. I’m sure they appreciated your comments. Once again….,,eBay has changed and that was my point! I have had problems with selling also and I have sent PREPAID return labels when these problems have happened to me which was my point to eBay. I would have gladly sent it back with a prepaid label. I don’t remember her name but I guess you can call eBay about me also? I told the seller I don’t want the blanket and have marked return to sender

·2 years agoNo, my dear, I didn't contact anyone, nor did I give you an 'option'.... any sellers on these boards reading your posts have undoubtedly added you to their best buddie list.

If delivery is refused (return to sender) the buyer forfeits their buyer protection.
Sounds like you were given a courtesy refund (or two) in the past. These are the exception. Users usually only get one of those. Two would be a bonus.

·2 years agoUnless your seller voluntarily refunds after your Return to Sender arrives back @texan4ever your return request is over, where you were told to pay for return shipping.
But you have more recourses to get your refund for the returned item. If you paid with PayPal, start an Item Not Received dispute here. Not a return. Choose the "I refused delivery" reason.
Then wait up to 5 days for your refund. Otherwise, file a chargeback with your card issuer.
Again, use the "Refused Delivery" reason to show that the item went back to the seller, to get your refund.

·2 years agoAfter 14 years, you should know there's no reason to contact CS when your item is running late.
A day after the estimated delivery date, open an Item Not Received case on the site.
Yes, CS is terrible, that's one good reason to not deal with them.

·2 years agoYour item was due around the 25thof March.
It is now the 3rd of April and the parcel has not been delivered.
You have contacted the seller who told you to return it when it arrived at your own expense.
That didn't suit you. (Wouldn't suit me either)
The shipment has been mailed but has not been delivered.
Now.
What you should have done, and can still do, is open an Item Not Received Claim and get a full refund.
When the shipment does arrive, you can keep it, donate it, trash it, mark it Return To Sender, ask the seller for a Return Shipping Label, or make it into a chew toy for the pit bull next door.
Or you can keep asking the seller for a refund they are unwilling to make without the return.
And asking customer service reps for a refund while ignoring their advice to open an Item Not Received Claim and get a full refund.
And getting madder and madder.
You have 30 days from the last estimated date for arrival to open an Item Not Received Claim and get a full refund.
Choose wisely.

When you buy an item on Ebay, you are able to see the estimated date of delivery, and you agree to wait until that date to receive your item, so you cannot complain if you think it took "too long" to arrive.
No one will issue a refund before that estimated date of delivery has passed by at least 24 hours and you file a Refund Request.
If you decide to return an item because you think it took too long to arrive, then you will have to pay the return shipping costs since you did not have a valid reason under Ebay's Money Back Guarantee.

Did you know that even when the last estimated date for delivery has already passed & you were to open a request, Ebay can elect to extend the time for delivery.

·2 years agoEbay wouldn't refund just because you call complaining shipping is taking to long.
Has the estimated delivery date passed?

·2 years agoNo one here can suspend or close your account - we're all buyers and sellers on a community page here.
I don't recall it ever being ebay policy to refund while an item is still in transit, and not passed the estimated delivery date, anyone else feel free to chime in if I'm mistaken. You've already had bad dealings with this seller, and still buying from him? It's SOP to wait for the item to arrive, then if you have issues with it, you can open the appropriate case. If the item arrives not as described or damaged, seller would print you a return label at no cost to you. If you need further CS, best to contact ebay on social media, ebay for business on facebook.
