ebay gift card problems
I sent a best offer and was forced to select my gift card as the only payment method (which was fine) for a $10 item. When the offer was accepted ebay proceeded to charge my cc instead without consent. The credit card charged is only supposed to be used for selling cost btw. Please be aware that ebay will not always use the gift card when making a best offer. just another ebay glitch to be aware of.
I was also not able to use the entire $100 gift card on a single purchase, only for purchases under $100. I heard from google gemini this is done to prevent money laundering. I would recommend to not buy a gift card over $50. Buyer beware out there.

Myself I won't buy gift cards period. I read about too many problems and scams associated with them. I just use a credit card and pay it off monthly.......................

Ebay will never accept a gift card for anything that requires a buyer to prepay. This includes best offers and auction listings from sellers who have chosen to require prepayment. Gift cards join a number of other payment methods not accepted for prepayments. So if you're going to make or accept a best offer, or bid on an auction, be prepared to pay with your credit card.

OP6 months agowell actually I just used a gift card for a best offer a few days ago and it worked. seems to sometimes work and sometimes not. If what you say is true then why is ebay forcing me to select the gift card as the only payment method when I make the offer? the ebay gift card system seems to be glitchy. I sometimes have to keep reloading the payment page for the gift card to show up.

·6 months agoIf it worked then the seller has opted out of prepayment. Since eBay never informed sellers they were automatically opted in many aren't aware they are. So you'll find the ones who have opted out are few and far between.
