eBay does NOT PROTECT BUYERS- BEWARE

Long story short! I have been a dedicated ebay customers for 20+ years- I do NOT have an Amazon prime account. But I plan on getting an Amazon account now and will no longer use ebay. I have several items being delivered from ebay this week, then plan on deleting my account forever.
I bought an item on ebay. Simple $12.00 item. Never got delivered- tracking number on ebay says “delivered 08/31/2023â€, but the ‘same’ tracking number on the actual FedEx website says got delivered to a pharmacy and was signed for by a person I do not know and have never heard of. Called FedEx and they told me that this tracking number did not have MY address on it- it was intentionally delivered to a different address.
Contacted seller twice. No response.
contacted eBay thinking they would step in. Well they stepped in and told me they did NOT side with me and I would receive no refund- so I contacted them two more times, they told me again and again they didn’t believe me and they would NOT REFUND ME and to go ask my neighbors if they got my package and to call FedEx (even though I already told them I called FedEx).
so basically! eBay will not protect you at all if you buy something and don’t receive it.
so buyers BEWARE.

·1 year agoebay sent me an email showing the purchase was paid for but my purchase was sent to an old address. Since this has been going on for over their time limit they now refuse to acknowledge their mistake.

·1 year agoNecro thread, the seller can only send your item to your registered Ebay address. Did you update it?

·2 years ago anyone that feels frustrated like me for not receiving a refund and closing my case knows how I'm feeling right now. I've been a customer here on eBay and I had to reach customer service because the seller simply ignored my messages. I was asking for my refund and got ignored the whole time and no one helped me at all.

·2 years agoWere you within the thirty day timeline for the Mbg? If you used doesnt fit' as the reason for return, thats a remorse return and the seller doesnt have to accept it.

·2 years agoNot to be snarky, but you've had so many unhappy transactions, maybe better to shop at the mall where you can see the item and try it on.

If you were a victim of the fake tracking scam, and you relied on the completely automated INR process, then yes the bots will rule against the buyer every time if the seller has a delivery scan. The bots cannot see the address, only the zip code and it was "delivered".
Surprise to me someone would intentionally run the scam for $12 but maybe. The correct way to deal with this scam has been posted probably twice a day for the past couple of years.
BTW, you would have gotten the same ruling result if the package was delivered to your address and stolen off your porch. Best of luck to you.

Contact eBay on Facebook.
Send a private message and tell them the item was delivered to a pharmacy and not to you.
Keep all the information you have, especially the communication that says it was delivered to that pharmacy.
(by any chance, was that pharmacy in your zip code?)
It may take a little longer for you to get a response from them, just because it’s the weekend and I’m not sure if there is full staff on weekends.
But you will get a reply.

·3 years agoHi @saellah_v
I was able to get refunded for several ‘fake tracking number scams’ from eBay (and other venues). Simply contacting eBay reps isn’t beneficial.
I’m sorry for your difficulties. Contact your credit card company for the refund. Good luck in shopping elsewhere!
