EBAY closed refund case incorrectly. Said no tracking but it is in case? I can't appeal. Help!
I got a fake item and opened a refund case. I uploaded the tracking information but EBAY closed the case saying I did not. It was and still is in the correspondence. Now I can't appeal as EBAY says the case is closed. What can I do? It was an EXPENSIVE item.

Call your credit card company, provide the tracking number that shows delivery back to the seller, and request a chargeback.
[Hopefully, you paid with a credit card.]

·1 year agoDid you or did you not open an item not as described case?
If you opened a case, you needed to return to it after 3 days and ask eBay to step in.
Since you mention tracking, does the tracking show it was received back by the seller?

·1 year agoSounds like you did not open an item not as described case. Then the seller sends a paid return label and that handles the tracking.
If you paid by credit card, contact your card company.

OP1 year agoThank you for responding. I did open a case, and it was delayed as the seller is overseas and could not send a return label. The seller agreed to refund and I uploaded a picture of the tracking information and receipts yet EBAY closed the case with no ability to appeal because they say I did not provide the tracking information. But I DID and within the prescribed timeframe.
I would like to get someone to review the case as the requested information is there but I can not find a way to get a reasonable person to look at it. I keep getting stuck in an AI loop that says the case is closed and I can't appeal.
Any ideas welcome.
Thanks!

·1 year agoSellers outside the US cannot send prepaid labels but in order to get a seller to pay return shipping, you need to find out what return shipping costs and have the seller send you (by PP) the amount to cover shipping.
Then, when you have the return tracking number, you need to copy and paste it into the case.
In sending the seller a screenshot isn't the way to do it.
