eBay claims "It's too late to cancel this order" 1 hour after placing the order? | Buying

I bought a replacement iPhone screen originally to fix my iPhone but it broke when I was fixing a few other issues and now the phone doesn't turn on. I tried canceling the order an hour after I placed it and now it won't let me cancel the order? Why?? If I placed the order I have the right to cancel it 24 hours after I purchase it. And why do I have to message the seller now to "work things out?" shouldn't that happen 24 hours after you buy the item?
