eBay buyer protection package forwarding service
Do I have eBay buyer protection if I ordered an item using a package forwarding service, but the item is never actually sent by the seller?

OP8 months agoThank you for your help, to everyone who has replied so far. I paid for the item on Monday, but haven't heard anything further and my inquiries aren't getting any response. That's why I wanted to ask if the buyer protection applies, as the item was quite expensive.

·8 months agoYou should be fine. 1 day after the last estimated delivery date on the order (from the Order Details page, not the listing itself now), if there is still no tracking showing delivery date, go to your Purchase History and choose the option that says you did not receive your item. That will open and Item Not Received claim, and the seller will need to input tracking or issue a refund. If they do not respond within the I think 4 days allowed, go back to that claim and ask eBay to step in. You will not need to communicate directly with the seller at all.

If tracking doesn't show delivery to your forwarding service you can open an item not received case. Where you lose coverage when you use a freight forwarder is the point where the package is reshipped.

The answer from @kathiec is correct. The seller is required to prove the item was delivered to the address on the order. While they do not have any responsibility once it is received and then reshipped, they have to get it there first.
