eBay Authenticity Guarantee is a scam
I bought some balenciaga track led on eBay
Authenticity Guarantee I received the shoes when I received I inspected the shoes and I had a Weird feeling about them so I sent pictures of the shoes to a company called Legit Check that verifies shoes to make sure they authentic so it turned out that the shoes I bought were replicas / fake I contacted eBay and they sent me the label to return them. turns out they are telling me that the shoes aren’t in the same condition they sent them to me. The shoes were never worn so I basically paid $726.70 for shoes that are unauthentic so what’s the point of eBay having
Authenticity Guarantee if they are selling unauthentic shoes

·2 years agoJust to be clear and make sure I'm understanding correctly. Your OP said your return was rejected because they weren't sent back in the same condition. You are now saying they (ebay) rejected the return because you sent back totally different shoes as in fakes. I just want to clearly understand the EXACT situation before offering next steps.

OP2 years agoHey eBay sent me a return label and I sent them then they told that the shoes weren’t in the same condition but the shoes were never worn and they still have there eBay Authenticity tag attached a they are saying that the shoes are unauthentic but that’s the reason I’m returning them because there unauthentic.

·2 years agoJust curious but what did ebay say was different about the condition? Were the ebay authenticator tags removed? In the future, if the shoes do not seem authentic you could have skipped using the app and just proceeded with the return through ebay directly as you did. Just make sure everything is the same way as they were delivered.
I have never heard of that app so I just checked them out and if I'm reading correctly a person pays them $9.99/month to authenticate luxury items from uploaded pictures and then you receive a digital COA?
Also, they claim that if you feel you received fakes they will send you a COA stating such to get your money back from your financial institution and they are successful 99.99%.
Everything aside, I would highly caution one to be careful using an app such as this as it could make one APPEAR that fake COA's are being bought and sold. 😳

·2 years agoThis isn't the case for items that go through eBay Authentication. Per the terms & conditions of all the Authentication programs, if the item is authenticated the sale is as-is. There is no option to open a not as described case. I'm honestly surprised eBay offered a return. They normally take the stance that their authenticators are foolproof.

I've not used authentication, however, in reading the boards it mostly depends on the sellers return policy as to whether buyer can send back as INAD, etc.
Interestingly enough, though, here is a direct quote from the help pages:
Returns with Authenticity Guarantee
"If a buyer wants to return an authenticated item, your return policy as stated in the listing will apply." Authenticated items are covered by eBay Money Back Guarantee, assuming all other eligibility criteria are met. For full details, read our eBay Money Back Guarantee policy.
"When returning an item, the buyer will send it back to the authenticators who will check that the item is still in the same condition and has all relevant accessories." Once the item has been re-authenticated, it will be returned to you and the buyer's refund will be processed.
It appears that in this case the seller did accept returns if they were willing to take them back, but as ebay stated they weren't returned to them in the same condition. I asked OP if perhaps something was left out or the authenticator tags were pulled off but they haven't returned to explain further.
Also I mentioned that in any event a COA from a 3rd party isn't necessary to get a refund through ebay if eligible...also in that apps fine print it also says that ebay as well as several major marketplaces don't recognize their COA's anyway lol.

OP2 years agoHey I called them to do a return and they only gave me the option to return them as not described. The shoe’s condition was exactly how I received I never worn the shoe and the
Authenticity tag were still attached. When they received the shoes they told me that shoes were fake and that I switched the shoes but the tags were still attached idk why eBay is doing this to me idk what’s the point of them having
Authenticity Guarantee if they are going to pass fakes I suggest everybody not to buy shoes on eBay especially if they are
Authenticity Guarantee cause you won’t be covered I also seen that this has happened to multiple people on ebay

OP2 years agoHey the shoes were in the same condition I got them the shoes were never worn and the authenticity tag were still attached they told they didn’t pass inspection because the shoes were fake but that was the reason I was returning them because they were fake.and company that I had sent pictures to did send me case number which you can see how the realized they were fake
now eBay doesn’t want to give me a refund
