eBay authentication sent shoes requiring signature
I’ve bought a lot of shoes on eBay and I’ve never had a signature confirmation required for delivery before. The shoes are well below $750. I paid $218. I’ve bought shoes a lot more expensive than this too. Why would the authenticators all of a sudden require one? I work Monday through Saturday and am never home to sign for anything. They usually leave my packages in my mail room since I live in a secure building. I’m not sure what to do in this situation. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

OP3 years agoTalked to eBay and they told me I’m out of luck. I either have to hope the post office doesn’t honor the signature confirmation or wait for the item to be shipped back to them so they can ship it again without the signature confirmation. Terrible service. I’ll be doing a charge back.

·3 years agoeBay might have a threshold of $750 before a signature is required but a seller or authenticator can still add a signature for a lesser threshold because a signature is the only proof of purchase with some credit card companies, so maybe the authenticator is protecting themselves against not received claims.
For sure if you fail to sign for it then that's basically refusing delivery. You lose eBay
buyer protection when you refuse delivery.
Disputing the payment is retail theft as far as I'm concerned. The seller doesn't deserve to have their payment reversed when they haven't done anything wrong.
