EBAY AUTHENTICATION GUARANTEE
DOES ANYONE REALLY LIKE EBAY AUTHENTICATION PROGRAM, WHEN IT COMES TO SIGNED SPORTS CARDS? I.E. TOPPS, PANINI, LEAF ETC.. I DO NOT. IF A CARD IS ENCASED OR NOT AND ALREADY HAS BEEN GIVEN A GUARANTEE ON THE BACK OF THE CARD, WHY DOES EBAY HAVE TO GET INTO THE SALE? I CAN UNDERSTAND IF IT IS A CARD OR ITEM THAT HAS BEEN SIGNED BY A PLAYER OR PERSON OUTSIDE OF THE COMPANY. BUT HOW CAN EBAY PROVE AUTHENTIC IF THEY DO NOT SEND TO IT A GRADER? MY PROBLEM WITH THE PROCESS IS, WHEN A RAW (UNGRADED, UN-SLABBED, NOT ENCASED CARD) TOUCHES MORE HANDS, THE CHANCES OF DAMAGE INCREASES GREATLY. FINGERPRINTS, BENDS AND PULLING FROM THE HOLDER ETC. THE DAMAGE CAN CHANGE A CARD SALE GREATLY. A GRADED CARD THAT W0ULD HAVE BEED A TEN, WHICH COULD SELL FOR $1000.00. IF A CARD GETS DAMAGED BY AN EBAY EMPLOYEE, WHICH NO ONE WOULD EVER ADMIT TOO, AND GRADES TO A 9 OR LESS, THE CARDS VALUE DROPS BY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. WHAT HAPPENS IF THE CARD GETS LOST OR DAMAGED THROUGH MULTIPLE SHIPPERS BECAUSE OF THE BACK AND FORTH? WHAT WILL EBAY DO IF THEY CLAIM THE CARD SIGNATURE IS NOT AUTHENTIC, YET TOPPS, PANINI, ETC HAS ALREADY GUARANTEED IT? AND LASTLY, WHY MUST WE HAVE TO CLAIM THE CARD "USED" WHEN WE POST TO SELL IF THE CARD IS GRADED A PERFECT 10. IT IS "USED" IF IT HAS BEEN TOUCHED BY TOO MANY PEOPLE ALONG THE WAY BY THIRD PARTY EBAY "AUTHENTICATORS".

What happens when you send a raw, ungraded, unslabbed card to PSA/DNA? Hands at those authenticators, touch it and can damage it. eBay partners with PSA, CGC, CSG, who do the authenticating. eBay employees have nothing to do with authentication.
Cards that have been graded are usually slabbed. The authenticators check to see if the slab has been opened and resealed, that the sticker number is for the card in the slab. Those scams had been pulled on buyers before eBay had the authentication process. The authenticators do not do more than check the seal and stickers on previously graded, signed, slabbed cards.
If a card is lost or damaged in shipping, either seller will have to refund, if it does not reach the authenticator, or ebay will if it happens after authentication on its way to the buyer.
Cards sold as guaranteed by Topps, Panini, can be and have been forged, by unscrupulous sellers/dealers. Some even duplicated the holographic stickers used years ago. Scammers will go to extraordinary lengths to turn an ordinary card into a very high value one. It doesn't just happen with trading cards either. Rare movie posters and other paper products have been carefully forged using authentic paper, ink, and printing machines from decades ago.

The use of paragraphs would also be helpful in breaking up that wall of text.
