Dropshipping
If anyone can help with some clarification....
I purchased item number 115726545176.
Tracking was provided in the order, however the tracking number never updated along the way.
The day it was supposed to arrive per the estimated delivery date, it miraculously arrived via Amazon Prime delivery van.
The package was a horrible mess.
The sticker on the box was Amazon Warehouse.
After opening it was clear the item was purchased by a customer on Amazon and returned, as the gate had scuff marks all over it. Then it was resold as used by Amazon Warehouse.
This seller posted the item as "new-other" with no real details and fulfilled the order through Amazon with whatever the cheapest price there was.
Trust me, my husband got a lesson in here is how you look at feedback and see where the person is located BEFORE you purchase from a seller.
I started a return, the seller provided a label to ship it BACK to Amazon.
Ebay could see what was happening but has told me to ship it back as the first step.
Then they would step in and hold the seller accountable and I would get my money back.
Umm... no.
As a seller I have seen the downside of returns too many times to count. As long as the gate is in my possession I'm not out product and money.
Anyway, I would like to just get some more eyes on this so I'm looking for some feedback.
I believe the policy is as such:

However, listing an item on eBay and then purchasing the item from another retailer or marketplace that ships directly to your customer is not allowed on eBay. Activity that doesn’t follow eBay policy could result in a range of actions including but not limited to: administratively ending or canceling listings, hiding or demoting all listings from search results, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions, loss of buyer or seller protections, and account suspension. All fees paid or payable in relation to listings or accounts on which we take any action will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account."
Am I wrong here though? Is this not a clear policy violation?
Small business owners are held accountable all the time on here but these sellers just keep being allowed to get away with whatever they want.

·3 years agoThat's actually allowed: If eBay can track that return label, you'll get your refund even if it's never delivered.

Sounds like the seller sold it on ebay and re purchased your order on Amazon, so they could get a cheaper rate and make more money. You are correct, they cannot do that, as it is a violation. I would report the seller and tell them what you posted here. It does sound like a mess and as a buyer you shouldn't have to go thru this fiasco.

·3 years agoIf you want your money back, you will have to go through with the return. As long as you opened an item not as described case, you should be ok.
I don't know if this applies here, but some sellers keep their merchandise in an Amazon warehouse and let them take care of shipping.
