DON'T buy luxury watch brand from here (tons of fakes around and Ebay is not doing anything).
I've seen new trend from scammers leveraging Ebay . And they immediately take down the seller link if they suspect being caught.
In a nutshell, I 've seen several listings (appears its a operation of multiple people). They are listing brands like Rolex, Panerai, Omega for under retail prices. And are using stolen pictures from Google so the listing appears totally legit, incl original box and papers. However, there's NO buy it now price but a low 30 day bid and one of the images will say "Please email us here for immediate purchase".
So far, I've seen these 2 emails being used in these listings:
When ya message them with the "legit" listing, they'll immediately take the listing down and then will send ya what appears to be a ebay link which its not. They are directing you to a fake website thats been coded to look like Ebay with a "complete purchase" button .
I played along and emailed them I had sent payment and started receiving threatening emails afterwards. As of now, all the listings I had saved has been removed.
Then if u search here, people are selling legit watch brand boxes, manuals and even stamped warranty cards. So someone can easily buy a replica Rolex or Omega from China, buy the legit books, etc, package everything in and sell it as a legal purchase and most people would never know they paid $10k for a $300 chinese POS.
Ebay doesnt care as it's a selling platform (just like Amazon doesnt care who or what is being sold on their platform).
If buying luxury watches, I'd look at Reddit and watch forums who have "recommneded seller" who operate their own website directly with tons of real feedback (also active on many watch forums).
And Ebay watch authentication is a joke and half the time, they cannot even tell a fake replica VS the real one.
Hope this helps.

·2 years agoI've bought several Omega and Rolex from eBay with no problem's. The only fake one I received I sent back and was refunded.
Ebay will step in and refund your purchase for any counterfeit goods you receive as long as you mail it back to the address it was sent from.

·3 years agoAs for eBay not caring, they have an authentication program for any watch selling for more than $2,000. They cover the cost of authentication, as well as two-day, secure shipping from the third-party authenticator facility to the buyer. They shut down scammers as quickly as they're made aware of them. The best way to help get rid of scammers is to only buy luxury watches that show they're eligible for authentication.

·2 years agoReally no need for that. Ebay will refund you if you received counterfeit goods.

·3 years agoI don't wear watches, but if I did buy a luxury watch, I wouldn't buy one on eBay. I would go to a B&B for that.

why not? I got this vintage Omega that's 100 percent legit. After service and taxes it was around 500. Not bad for a watch that has lasted someone's lifetime and will surely be ticking after I'm gone.
