The exact proportion may be disputable, but I get your meaning. If you insist on buying precious metal through eBay, at least do it from a reputable seller, such as APMEX or JMBullion.
Private collectors who just want to liquidate some of their metal might be just fine, but there's no reliable way to separate the wheat from the chaff beforehand, with 100% certainty. The eBay money back guarantee has your back but I'd rather avoid the necessity. My personal favorite is APMEX.

·3 weeks agoWell, at least you are vetting the sellers before you buy, and you seem to recognize fakes right away, so that gives you a thumbs up.
P.S. I wouldn't buy gold bars on eBay either.

I wouldn't buy gold bars on Ebay.

·3 weeks ago · EditedHi @kensgiftshop Why not? eBay has more buyer protection than any other sites. Buyers have the eBay Money Back Guarantee. I wouldn't sell gold bars on eBay because of that.
