Does the new cancellation policy cover Buy It Now purchases, or just Auctions?
By auctions I mean the kind where you make a bid, and other people can outbid you. I tend to use Buy It Now so i wasnt sure if the new cancellation policy applied to Buy It Now.

Are you asking the question as a Buyer or Seller?

If you are asking as a buyer, have you won an auction and want to cancel the transaction? Or did you bid on an item and now want to retract the bid?
If the auction has not ended yet you can retract your bid, under certain conditions. Open the link below to find out what they are.

Do be aware that if you retract a bid, the retraction will show up on your feedback profile and will remain there for 1 year.
Once you win an auction it basically means the price is a Buy It Now one. Payment may automatically be made if the seller is enrolled in auto pay. If they are not enrolled in auto pay the listing will show up in the Cart.
If you want to cancel an auction you won, you can only ask the seller if they would be willing to cancel it. When you bid on the item you entered into a contract to pay for the item, and you cannot unilaterally cancel the contract. The seller has to agree, but ebay does not require them to do that.

Requesting cancellation of either a won auction or a Buy It Now purchase needs to be approved by the seller.
