Distinguishing the age of a My Twinn Doll
I find it difficult to distinguish the age of a My Twinn Doll by body tag because we sent my daughter's 1997 doll to the My Twinn Doll Hospital in 2003. She received a new 2003 body, new hair and new eyelashes. She was sent back to us in a hospital gown and hospital ID bracelet. There is no way to tell how many people utilized that service. Does anyone have another idea to distinguish the age?

·2 years agoThis site has some great comparisons of the skin, eye, and hair colors from each of the manufacturing sites. Beyond that, the only other way to approximate the age of the head is to look at the quality of the materials used in it. A big part of the reason the company folded was that the quality of the dolls had declined so much.

OP2 years agoFrom everything I'm reading. it seems impossible to know what age the head of a My Twinn doll really is. So if I want to replace the eyes of a My Twinn that I bought used that has a post-Denver era body, there is a possibility that the vinyl will crumble. I guess that, in that situation, I should just replace the eyes from the back of the head to be safe.

I found this about eye replacement.
Eye changing of My Twinn dolls is quite challenging. You need to lie the doll on a clean towel with the head facing sideways. Now take a hairdryer and focus the nozzle towards the eye, leaving an inch away from the eyes. Now leave the blow for five to 10 minutes.
When the vinyl is squishy, gently remove the eyes from the doll. Then heat the vinyl again and push the new eyes under the upper eyelid and back towards the head of My Twinn doll.
