Discrepancy between listing Description and listing picture (Bait & Switch)
I purchased on Ebay a Royal Copenhagen 1950 Christmas plate that was listed as follows in the title of the
listing: ROYAL COPENHAGEN DENMARK 7.25†RC CHRISTMAS PLATE BOESLUNDE 1950. In the same listing there was a picture of a Royal Copenhagen 1961 Christmas plate “The Training Ship DANMARK†which I thought was just an exemplar of the Royal Copenhagen Christmas Plates. When I received the shipment, I was surprised to receivethe Royal Copenhagen 1961 Plate as both the listing title and the detailed description by the seller were for a Royal Copenhagen 1950 Christmas Plate. See the detailed description left by the seller bellow, which was copied directly out of the ebay listing:
Item description from the seller:
The Royal Copenhagen Denmark 7.25" RC Christmas Plate Boeslunde from 1950 is a vintage collector's item made of porcelain and ceramic, featuring a round shape and a festive multi-color Christmas theme. This handmade plate, originating from Denmark, is a unique piece of decorative collectible that can be displayed for any occasion or added to a collection of Royal Copenhagen items. Its production technique highlights the quality craftsmanship of the 20th century, making it a charming addition to any home decor.
Since receiving the wrong Royal Copenhagen (RC) Plate I have contacted the seller. He said that I received what I hadpurchased per the picture in the listing. The seller further states that if I want the RC 1950 Christmas plate I will need to pay for the difference and he has the RC 1950 Christmas Plate listed for $50 more than what I paid for what I got.
During the listing period I did try to make several offers for the RC 1950 Christmas Plate with no response at all from the seller, and even after making the full asking price the seller took several days to acknowledge the purchase and a further 2 weeks to actually ship the item.
To summarize, this seller has been slow to respond to my offers and in shipping, he shipped me an item I do not want, and is asking for $50 more for the item I do want and thought I had already purchased.
So my question here is what takes priority in a listing the verbiage or a picture in the listing??
Also, how should I move forward and what recourse do I have with issue??
Thank You.

·8 months agoJust file for an INAD claim, you have 30 days to do this. Doesn't matter what the seller says about returns or not, nor do you need their permission for this type of return

A seller's No Returns stance has no standing in face of the MBG. Have you read it? If not, now would be a good time to do so.

Open the Return. Then read the policy... it's really good info for buyers. Good luck. >> eBay Money Back Guarantee policy

·8 months agoI must be mistaken -- you saw the discrepancy between the description and the picture, but went ahead with the purchase?

·8 months agoIt all has to match the item.
Go to your purchase history and click return item and select, the item doesn't match the description as the reason.
The seller will have 3 days to accept the return and pay return shipping or refund without returning.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.
