Delivered to wrong address
I bought an item and when tracking (USPS) showed it was delivered I waited a few more days and checked my ring cameras to make sure it was not stolen or if USPS may have left it somewhere else around.
After multiple communications with seller, the only responses I got "Contact ebay for further assistance" (about 4 of them until I gave up), I went to my local post office and they said yes it was delivered but not to the address I gave them. We triple checked the tracking number and shipping address in my account and they confirmed it was not the address it was shipped to. It only shows township and state (which was right by the way) but not full address when you search up tracking on their site. USPS obviously can't share the full details for privacy reasons so I can't really get any proof of that.
I contacted seller again, and received the same response. Then I opened a claim with eBay, which I lost and case closed right away without any investigation simply because seller stated that tracking shows it was delivered.
Let me know if you encountered anything like that and if there's anything else I can do on eBay side.
Thanks!

·2 years agoMy experience is musch worst, I live in the Philippines but by item was delivered in the USA to a person with a Russian name. I believe eBay came up with a control measure to avoid such an incident that the seller will not delivered an item/s if the primary address and the secondary address is far different. However, eBay sided with the seller and i was divastated since the items was quite expensive. The seller should have verified or suspecious why my account name was far different from the person they delivered in the USA. According to eBay, I should have check my primary address but we don't check our address everytime we open eBay since it is already encoded. There should have applied theirmeasures and it is a must for the seller not to deliver once account have different addresses and verify with the buyer why such changes was made to avoid such an incident.

If you read everything I wrote in the link gator provided, you will see that you can contact ebay through their Facebook or Instagram pages even if you lost an appeal. Those reps can overturn a lost appeal.

OP2 years agoI actually called them, and was told that they would submit my case to some offline team and do manual refund. They should get back to me in 4-7 days. If that doesn't work out I'll continue with social media. Local post office wasn't helpful either and wouldn't provide any letters or hard proof, but that must've been just today's clerk. Will check another time, at least the other clerk told me it was a different address.

"I actually called them, and was told that they would submit my case to some offline team and do manual refund. They should get back to me in 4-7 days".
There is no direct to ebay phone number you can call. You have to go through the procedure for getting a call back, by clicking on the Contact us button under the Help & Contact header at the bottom of ebay pages. If you looked one up online it did not take you to ebay, and may have been a phishing site trying to get your info.

Some clerks are not aware of the scam, or maybe they're new. You should have asked to speak to the Postmaster. In the instructions I wrote in the link for getting a note there are 2 main things to do.
A) Bring a full page copy of your order details which has your address and tracking number. Or you
can bring your phone or tablet if you use one, to show the clerk so they can see the difference.
B) Do not ask a clerk for specific information to be written down, such as the label address. You
only ask them to write in General that address on the label does not match the one one on
your order details. If appropriate ask them to write that the package info, type/size/weight was not right for what you ordered. That is all that is needed.

·2 years agoYou need to get a letter from USPS stating that the package was not addressed to you, then use it to appeal the case.

The reason why your dispute "claim" was turned down is described in the link below written by me and was accepted as the best Answer, which also includes instructions on what you need to appeal the decision and win. In the message you received denying your dispute there should be an Appeal button, you have 30 days to appeal.
