Delivered Status But No Tracking Movement or Package - What’s Happening?
Hi everyone,
I purchased an item on eBay, and the order status shows as “Delivered.†However, when I check the USPS tracking number, it shows that the package hasn’t even been received by USPS, with no movement at all. The tracking code exists, but no updates have been posted since the seller created the shipping label.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something I can do while waiting for the estimated delivery date to pass, or should I be worried about a potential issue with the seller? Any advice on how to handle this would be greatly appreciated!
It is a product at a much cheaper price than normally would so I took the offer, don't want to be scammed.
Thanks in advance!

·1 year agoFF apparently received package on 9/3. That's the first "delivered" scan. There is a second UPS tracking number that shows the package was sent on 9/4 (from the FF) and is expected to be delivered on 9/11. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

OP1 year agoThanks for pointing that out, I have two tracking codes!!!
one was associates and “deliveredâ€; the other is “on the wayâ€.
is this normal? Anyway I am asking the FF to open the package because it weights 8 ounces when it should weight around 64.

·1 year agoYour images are a bit confusing.
It's possible they recognized they sent the wrong item and sent the right item with new tracking.
If it's for the same order.
Have the FF inspect the second one once it's delivered.

OP1 year agoIt seems very fishy. Both packages weight 8 ounces.
They sent and delivered one package so that they can get the money, and then sent another package so i can never complain until the second gets to me, which btw is very delayed.

OP1 year agoHey everyone, thanks all for your help, it is indeed UPS, not USPS, my typo since I am not familiar.
I indeed send it to a FF(Doral, Fl) to Argentina.
Where are you seeing in the tracking that I was received by anyone? I am only seeing it on the way.

I would contact your FF and ask about it. They should have a record.

·1 year agoPlease see my post I wrote a month ago here https://community.ebay.com/t5/Shipping/Mail-carrier-accidentally-scanned-as-delivered-instead-of/td-p/34622926
It talks about my carrier using the wrong tracking scan. I would be patient and at least wait until the projected ebay ETA you were given. Messaging the seller wouldn't really hurt, but don't file an INR yet.

An INR would be a waste of time since the seller is simply going to provide the tracking information showing the item was delivered. OP needs to realize the eBay ETA does not include what ever amount of time it takes the freight forwarder to forward the item from Doral to Argentina.

·1 year agoI wrote that reply when I originally assumed the OP got a delivered status without ever having the USPS (Post office) receive the package, just like @a_c_green assumed. The OP's verbiage in their post really made it seem that way since I didn't click on their links. It's irrelevant now.
robbie31415
·1 year agoNone of this is seller problem.
Sorry to say.
Since you are in Argentina and used a FF you would need to contact the FF you hired.
Your package was successfully delivered to them.
Your item was shipped 8/30 and arrived 9/3 to your FF. There were no delays in the tracking.

OP1 year agoI've written to UPS to get any type of answer, I've also tried to contact Ebay through technical issues but nothing still.
Look that to me, the UPS tracking seems normal, a bit delayed but normal, there's no 'delivered' scan prior to 'on the way' or anything. It's just that Ebay order status is 'delivered' which is crazy and so smart and scammy all.

·1 year agoYour first post mentions USPS but it looks like it was sent UPS...correct?
I entered the tracking number that shows on one of your screen shots and it shows on the UPS site that it was delivered on Sept 3 at Met Customer (I have no idea what that is) in Doral. If you click on the details it shows that the package was .5 lbs. Does the weight sound right? If not, this could be a tracking scam and you may have to do a bit of leg work before you talk to eBay. Someone here can give you more info if you think that your package was not 1/2 lb.

I entered the tracking number that shows on one of your screen shots and it shows on the UPS site that it was delivered on Sept 3 at Met Customer (I have no idea what that is) in Dorval. If you click on the details it shows that the package was .5 lbs. Does the weight sound right? If not, this could be a tracking scam and you may have to do a bit of leg work before you talk to eBay. Someone here can give you more info if you think that your package was not 1/2 lb.
It looks like the mods may have pulled the post with the shipping screenshots which would have contained some key information. One reply indicated that the shipping address may have been that of a freight forwarder. I can't see the tracking information but maybe this was the UPS, if it went that way, entry indicating that the courier met the customer in Dorval wherever that is but I have never seen a UPS tracking entry like that before.
Knowing what the OP's shipping address is/was and what the item number is/was would maybe help to figure out the issue.

·1 year agoMods haven't removed the screenshot links.
The order has UPS tracking on it. Not USPS.
The OPs profile shows they are in Argentina.
UPS tracking shows delivery to Doral, FL.
Nothing in their story makes sense, but the everything in the screenshot appears to be consistent.

·1 year agoOh good catch. I didn't bother clicking on the links because I'm that kinda guy haha. But if what you say is true and the OP is using an FF, that totally changes things when he says "No USPS movement", because he used UPS and according to you it shows delivered to FF.
That's the OP's problem now, not the seller's. I'm guessing this is the first time OP used an FF.

Found the link in the OP. Used to images not links and missed the link, Bad eyes. 😊
The order has UPS tracking on it. Not USPS. Yes I see the tracking number and looked it up in USP tracking and it was indeed delivered and it appears to a freight forwarder of which there are 20+ in the Miami/Doral area.
The OPs profile shows they are in Argentina. Realized that but it does not mean they are physically in Argentina just that their registered address is Argentina. However in this case since they are apparently using a freight forwarder odds are that is where they are residing.

Agreed it is a bit confusing but I am going to assume the package is in the freight forwarders hands and that is who the OP needs to contact. At this point the logistics are out of the sellers hands as well as eBay's.

·1 year agoI don't know if any information was deleted but the tracking number from the bottom of the first screenshot and tracking shows on the UPS site. I don't know if I am allowed to give the number since it wasn't my tracking number.
@2014arhenri
I didn't realize that you are registered outside of the US. Is the address in Doral, Florida a freight forwarder that is supposed to send the package to your country?
The tracking shows that it was delivered to "met customer" (according to Google) which means it was directly handed to someone at that address so it does sound as if the package was delivered there.
robbie31415
·1 year agoI Just have to say I found it amusing your reply used the same misspelling which I'd assume was a typo.
But you didn't notice it ?
pjcdn2005
·1 year agoThanks for the correction. I had to read my posts a couple of times to figure out what you were referring to. It wasn't a typo. It was a case of seeing what I thought I had seen. There is a Dorval, Quebec so when I saw Doral on the tracking, my brain must have thought of Dorval.
robbie31415
·1 year agoI figured. I meant I think the person you responded to typo'd it and then you used his typo :D.
I just want everyone to be clear we are talking about Doral, FL, probably the most common FF location.
And once it's delivered to the FF, all issues related need to be directed to the FF. The seller has no control.

Tend to agree and that makes it an issue between the OP and the freight forwarder.

·1 year agoUPS and USPS are different shippers.
Which one did you use?
One reason for refusing to open Claims for non-delivery until the estimated date for delivery has passed is clearly given in post #6.
Human error.
There is a strong probability that the shipment is on its way to you, and will arrive within the window you were given.
If you have a deadline, don't buy by mail order. Buy locally.

·1 year agoI'm going to guess that the "Delivered" scan is shown as occurring in the seller's hometown. That happens more often than you might think: a carrier mailbox or porch pickup where the carrier forgets to change his hand scanner from its usual Delivered setting to Acceptance instead. Thus your package gets accidentally scanned as Delivered during the pickup, but this doesn't affect your package travels in any way.
You will see further tracking updates on the USPS.com website. eBay has always had problems interpreting the incoming data from USPS, so tracking as seen on eBay may remain stuck on Delivered, but I wouldn't worry about it.
If you did file an Item Not Received dispute later on (you should wait until the last Estimated Date of Delivery has passed), you would win anyway, as tracking would show that the package was not delivered in the City and ZIP Code of the address you provided with your payment. In short: no worries.

One thing for certain, if you do not receive the item and there is a status of "delivered" associated with your product, you are going to lose any "item not received" claim you make regardless if you file with eBay, PayPal if you paid that way, or your c.card company.
There will be something else you need to do instead. Do come back if "non receipt of parcel with a delivery scan" scenario should arise.

·1 year agoI would contact them to see if they can put a trace on the package. You may have to fill out a missing mail report. This happened to me years ago and after they traced it, the tracking updated and showed delivered within a day. YMMV
