Delayed Orders and Refunds: Navigating Online Marketplaces
Summary: morreic-74 shared their frustration over a delayed order for a collectible item which has not arrived despite the automatic charges to their Mastercard. They have not yet benefited from an online platform's money-back guarantee. They are seeking advice from others on handling similar situations with delayed orders and refunds.
I recently encountered an issue while ordering a Texaco Havoline Racing 1994-95 Mario & Michael Andretti Diecast Bank, which has sparked a broader conversation about dealing with delayed orders and refunds. After placing the order three months ago, the item still hasn't arrived, the seller doesn’t have it, and the shipping status has been stuck at 'Preshipment Info Sent' since June 22, 2026. Despite automatic charges to my Mastercard, I haven't seen the E-bay money back guarantee in action.
Have you ever faced a similar situation with online purchases? How did you handle delays and refunds in your experience with different platforms? What advice would you give to others to avoid or resolve such situations?

The Money Back Guarantee doesn't go into action until you invoke it by opening an item not received case. You only have 30 days after the last estimated delivery date shown in your purchase history or confirmation email to do so. If you're beyond that deadline eBay can't help you. You'll need to dispute the charge with your card issuer.
