Death Threats!
Regarding seller - when I put in a negative feedback seller responded with many negative messages. One of seller's many negative responses dated 8/20/2024 at 22:45 states "am I **bleep** what do you think if you lived anywhere near me well you would not be standing on your own two legs ever again. Your not welcome on ebay much less public..." In another message time stamped 8/20/2024 at 22:21 seller states, "I wlll be going hunting do you want to join me 😉 I use a ****" This type of threatening response to retaliate against negative feedback with real world violence and subtle death threats is ridiculous. It is insane that ebay has left this guy with 100% positive feedback by removing my feedback. Someone such as this that is making real world threats including subtle death threats should not be allowed to remain on this platform. Copies of these threats have been sent to police, in both his town and mine as well as to fbi, ic3 and afew other places. Ebay support if you ever get around to reading this since you ignored every other way I tried to communicate with you please ban this guy from selling! Online platforms like this is nowhere for violent threats such as this. Based on previous negative feedback I read on him that is now gone it appears that he may make these types of threats to anyone that leaves any negative feedback, making the ratings system here a major joke.

OP2 years agoIssue has been escalated to customer service via live chat. Apparently live chat is the only way they pay any attention to anything, even though they request a minimum of 48 hours to do anything, if they do anything. Hopefully such threats are not real, but if they were I'd hope in the future they change policies and processes as a real world threat that it takes them 48 or more hours to respond to is a very slow response time if actual violence or potential murder could become involved. I suggested in a customer service feedback that they implement a way for customer service to 'temp ban/freeze' sellers and shops and/or buyers in situations like this to hold assets, allow de-escalation, and possibly keep someone from 'cashing out' fast enough to hide from authorities in another state or country, etc. However, I guess it's highly unlikely they'll ever do anything like that... It is what it is I guess. Just gives folks another reason to look elsewhere besides ebay I guess.

Your feedback was removed because Feedback comments should match the rating. You marked a feedback as positive then left a negative comment. Most likely had you chosen to leave a Neutral, your comment would not have been removed.
You can report the seller to ebay by using the link below.
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Buying/Death-Threats/m-p/34637442#M497267
On the first page use the blue Report seller button.
Next page select seller has violated an ebay policy > Continue
Next Pg. enter the seller's username, select Other, then in the text box write.
" The seller sent me veiled Death threat type messages in my ebay messages. (Copy and paste the 2 messages you posted above here) please check the messages between us".
You can also report the other seller who left you a negative comment with a positive rating by stating that they did that in the text box, so it gets removed.
In the future I suggest that you refrain from commenting about item or shipping prices. You agreed to the costs, when you committed to buy the item. Complaining about shipping costs in feedback could get you blocked by future sellers, if they see comments like those if you bid on or make offers on their items.

·2 years agoThat feedback you received was NOT there when I looked last night! That new feedback left for you is from a different seller than the one you'd complained about.

·2 years agoCould be the original poster had complaints about multiple transactions with multiple sellers?

·2 years agoI guess that's possible.
Ebay isn't for everyone.
At a B&M store, you can see, feel, ask questions about and make decisions on whether an item is right for you.

·2 years agoEbay apparently not infrequently has removed neutral & neg feedback where there is no feedback policy violation, as a perk for top rated sellers.
It would appear some buyers who wish to avoid having their justified feedback removed by ebay will check positive but leave negative content of their buying experience. I have seen this after reading a seller's positives after I left my seller neural feedback which really deserved a neg, which was then unjustly removed, since admittedly no grounds existed based upon content for the removal

·2 years agoI think you're overreacting, amof anyone that puts a threat in writing I would not take seriously. I would reply to the threat with a Rodney GIF... You can also add the seller to your bidder block list and they won't be able to send you any more messages.

·2 years agoI'm guessing that whatever the feedback was that you left was a violation of ebay's feedback policy because it was removed. And as such, although I don't condone violent threats, the seller may have been justified in his anger.

Did you also report the messages through eBay? Depending on which messaging format you're using, you'll either see an actions button at the top where you can select report message, or you can click a 3 dot menu in the upper corner to report the message.
Once you report, eBay may delete the messages, so before you do that you should download/print/save copies in case you need them for law enforcement.
