dead beat sellers killed my interest in buying on eBAy .....UPDATE
Thanks for all of the nice notes BUT CONTRARY TO WHAT ALL OF YOU TOLD ME.... EBAY denied ANY REFUND. I don't understand and I know all of you that responded that assured me I wouldn't get stuck with 2 printers are probably confused too. I mean when you ship something after the stated due date one would think ebay might consider that a bad sale if the buyer could no longer use the item. I had to go buy a new printer to take care of business shipping labels etc. I ship on time....so now I'm out $70 for a printer and insurance I don't need and the cost of a new printer which I did need. ****sigh**** oh well.

·3 years agoSo generally if an item arrives late you can file a eBay case for a refund.
However you bought this on the 23rd which was a Friday and the seller has a three day handling time. So the seller didn't even need to ship until the 28th. So it seems you may have been impatient on this one and if the need was so urgent buying locally would have been a better option.

·3 years agoBased on the purchased date and time, there wouldn't have been anyway you would've received that printer on the 26th. Not sure how it gave you that esimate. The purchase was done at 6:53 pm, on the 23rd of Friday. Even if they dropped it off on Saturday, it may have made it to that states shipping hub, and maybe to your states hub, but not the destination city. Your original post said you were to expect the printer within 5 days of ordering, which would've been the 29th or 30th , because of the 2 non business days that followed your order. This is just what I can see with the time stamp that is on the date of the sell on that sellers listing you had gave feedback to. You are 100% correct that they should've at least communicated with you and let you know what was going on when you reached out, so that way you wouldn't have had those expectations on the delivery time, because then you could've just simply requested to cancel or not ordered, instead of the seller shipping out to someone that was expectations were it get in a certain amount of time.

·3 years agoDid you file an INR or INAD claim? You need to open an "Item not as described" claim for late delivery as previously stated by @house*of*paws and @janet9988 in your other thread.

·3 years agoInstead of giving that seller a negative, why didn't you wait a bit and then open an item NOT described case after the printer arrived? You did not even have to open up the package. Posting the negative solved nothing. You raised your bp and the sellers too. You do not know why the seller shipped a few days later . Perhaps they were ill or had a family emergency. Maybe they went away for a few days. Your mistake was buying a printer here when you needed it rightaway to print your shipping labels. This is the last place on Earth I would buy a printer from if I needed to print labels rightaway. Look at the bright side, so now you have a spare printer.

·3 years agoWho told you that you would not be stuck with it?
If you file a not received claim you are not guaranteed a refund unless you win when eBay decides. You don't win because they shipped past their handling time. You win if you never receive it. The delivery date is an estimate not a guaranteed date.
eBay doesn't make a decision until at least 3 days after you file, or when the case is escalated. If eBay sees there is a tracking number and it's about to be delivered they usually allow more time before they step in. During that time it was delivered and that's why the seller won.
Priority Mail sent immediately after a not received claim is filed will get delivered by 3 days, in just enough time to show delivered when the case is decided.
So yes, a seller can sit on the package and hurry and mail it when a case is filed and still win.
The seller doesn't accept returns. If you want to return items you no longer want you need to buy from sellers who accept returns.
You're never stuck with something because you have the ability to sell it if you no longer need it.

OP3 years agoYour reply is so full of hooey I'm not going to let it upset me... jeez.
fab_finds4u
·3 years agoTime frames are not hooey.
Priority Mail is 2-3 days. That ain't hooey.
A buyer cannot escalate a case or ask eBay to help for at least 3 days. That ain't hooey.
I will say again that this means you can file a not received claim and the seller has at least 3 days to respond with a tracking number. So yes indeed the seller can ship the day you file the case, the day after it's due, and they can and will win. eBay isn't looking at dates when you escalate the case. They see the tracking status which will show it's delivered, or about to be delivered. Then the case gets closed in the seller's favor. Call it hooey if you must,, but it's looking like boo-hooey for buyers.
It's another loophole for the seller, no doubt about it but you don't have to shoot the messenger.

·3 years agoI was under the impression that if you could open INAD for late delivery on a seller who has totally ignore shipping times??

·3 years agoOP was grousing about this 1 business day after the "possible" estimated handling time to have it shipped. (the handling time that we see)
We don't know when the shipping was to be done. Seller may or may not have been late shipping.
eBay provides unrealistic dates for estimates.
Based upon my "handling time" (which also has "working days) on one of my listings eBay shows an estimated delivery window with the 1st day being 2 days before the time that is required for it to be shipped.

OP3 years agoALL the seller EVER had to do was communicate with me if there was a problem. They did not... at no point.

·3 years agoIf you are looking at the 'estimated delivery dates'- sadly, they are ALL very false. You should know that you will get your item when you get it.
I have 5 business days to 'build/ship' items as stated in my listings; yet many buyers 2000 miles away will see that my item will GET TO THEM in 3 days.
I even hit up Ebay for Business Facebook and was told that eBay uses a 'secret algorithm' to determine delivery dates.
Again, if you buy my item on 7/10 it will NOT ship until 7/17; therefore it is IMPOSSIBLE to get it by 7/14.
But...that's 'what they say'.
By the way; it's like that on EVERY website (including AZ- had it happen MANY times since we moved to the boonies 3 years ago).

OP3 years agowhat you say is not true. I ship a lot of items on various accounts and I ship day of order and it is always there on time unless something beyond USPS's control happens like weather.

·3 years agoWhat I said was ABSOLUTELY true and I have NO IDEA why you would say anything else.
Doesn't matter what YOU do, or when YOU ship. I'm telling you that if you input 5 Business Days, the 'estimated delivery time' shown to customers is MUCH sooner.....and has been for years!
All you have to do is simply look at any of my listings and tell me what the 'estimated delivery date' is being shown to you?

·3 years agoWhenever I make an eBay purchase, I always see an ESTIMATED RANGE of arrival, not a guaranteed date.
I assume you lost the dispute because the printer arrived. The listing you left a neg for ended on Friday, so 5 business days, sounds good to me.
Depending on the seller’s handling time, they had to ship on Monday at the earliest and you got it 3 days later. Maybe you jumped the gun on this one…
tdebuys
OP3 years agoThey shipped on the date it was supposed to arrive.. end of story.
gone.c-33
·3 years agoThere is no date (singular) when it’s supposed to arrive. There’s an estimated delivery range after which you can file a complaint if you haven’t received your item.
I have a purchase with a July 8-10 EDD. That doesn’t mean the item will be delivered on July 8. Heck, the seller could ship on the 8th and if I received the item on the 10th, I wouldn’t expect to win an INR dispute…

·3 years agoAre you saying the issue was late shipping and you needed it sooner? If so, mail order is not best when you need it right away. Yes sellers should ship in the stated time. Most are not full time businesses so you have to allow for delays now and then.
tdebuys
OP3 years agoWhen you buy there is by eBay definition a "sales contract" established. I ordered based on what the seller indicated they could do. Not something I wished or fabricated. If they can't live with the contracts they create then that is on them....when they ship AFTER the stated date of arrival that is NOT in the category of " I have to allow for delays" now is it??? Well is it? NO it is not. You have no right to tell me anything about mail order or what I need or don't need. The seller stated a shipping arrival date and did not ship until after that date. That is an absolute breach of contract by any definition you care to impose. I owe the seller absolutely NO consideration in this case. I am easy to get along with and seldom find reason to complain unless I'm treated really badly... in this case I got treated badly.
