Customer Service stinks!
You folks are a joke when it comes to customer service. I never received an item that was promised by Christmas. I call and speak with a rep "Rose" who gave me some bogus Service Request # and tells me to call back in 3 days. I call back and speak with Ralph who tells me there is no record of my first call. We are going in circles so I ask to speak with a supervisor and while on hold guess what happens? Right I get cut off. I call back and again go on hold and again get cut off. Now i'm told my case will be resolved by Jan. 20th.
What kind of a CRM system do you have. I'll stick with Amazon. Your call reps must have been trained by the government in how to **bleep** people off.

OP3 years agoThere is a customer Service number if you scroll down on their official page. There are other phony numbers that want your info and then want to charge you to resolve your problem. I found these sites pop up whenever you google "Customer Service" or "Customer Support" in your search. Just go to the official page site and usually you'll find the real number
there.

·3 years agoNo, you are incorrect, there is'nt a phone number posted anywhere on eBay scrolling to the botton of the page gets you the CONTACT US which does NOT lead you to a phone number. There has'nt been a phone number posted for eBay in quite a while. So if you are seeing a phone number you're NOT on eBay.

Where did you find a number to call? The way ebay's customer service phone service works is you have to wait for a call back. If you found the number you called by doing an online search, not by using the Help & Contact button at the bottom of most ebay pages, you were not connected to ebay. The supposed ebay customer service companies listed online are probably there to mine information from people who call them, and they sell your info to marketing companies.

When you post here, you are NOT addressing eBay or its employees. These Boards are composed of thousands of eBay buyers and sellers who volunteer their time here to help others when possible. As such, we have absolutely nothing at all t do with customer service ever.
And, furthermore, eBay offers a very good Money Back Guarantee for buyers to use if/when a transaction goes wrong. ALL buyers need to read this, understand it and use it correctly.
If you have not received your package within a few days past its last estimated delivery date, all you need to do is open an item not received case. No need to speak with Rose or anyone else. Just open the case and follow the prompts. You have 30 days to do this with eBay.

·3 years agoThere's no guarantee you would have done any better with Amazon. I ordered a gift there on 12/15, supposed to be delivered on 12/17. It finally reached its destination on the 27th. Everything was delayed.

·3 years agoNOBODY can promise or guarantee that an item will arrive by Christmas. Have you seen the weather last week in about a 3rd of the country? Lots of snows, freezing temperatures, flooding in some areas, closed roads, thousands of cancelled flights, etc. The mail can't get through. Priority and Express mail travel by airplane. The rest is trucked. If the roads are impassable, the mail can't get through.
Do you have a tracking #? Does it show movement? Then you have to wait. If you opened a case, you still have to wait.
Amazon deliveries were also delayed in many areas. When you need an item for Christmas and plan on buying it online, you should have bought it weeks ago. It's always the item that you need most that will arrive late or never.
If this item was for a child, this is the perfect time to explain weather and mail deliveries. IF they believe in Santa Claus, tell them that Santa is waiting for the wrapping paper to arrive by mail so that they can wrap the gift and deliver it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years.
One final note, Ebay customer service will tell you anything to get you off the phone fast so that they can answer another question. They would NOT have been able to do anything anyway just tell you to open an item NOT arrived case.

OP3 years agoThanks for taking the time to respond.
I know weather impacts deliveries but they never updated me on delays
when expected delivery was Dec 20th.
What was frustrating is that after I call and get a case number and I call back 3 days later as instructed
and the CSR tells me there is no record of me calling and when I ask to speak with a supervisor he puts me on hold and after a few minutes cuts me off. I call back go through the whole 9 yards again and get cut off again.
finally I get an email from paypal saying my dispute should be resolved by Jan. 20th.
Geez--I ordered on Dec 16th. So yes I think their Customer Service stinks. the Ebay vendor was $10 less than Amazon but it sure wasn't worth it. I won't make that mistake again.

·3 years ago"Estimated delivery date" is just that-- "estimated." The holidays are the WORST time of year to be ordering anything last-minute and expecting it to show up on time just due to the sheer volume of packages moving through the system because things quite simply can get bogged down. It can happen with USPS, it can happen with UPS, and it can happen with FedEx.
If you did not pay extra for a service with a guaranteed delivery date, then unfortunately there's a risk that whatever you ordered might wind up getting delayed in the mail for whatever reason. Just recently I had an international package get stuck in customs for over a week for no reason-- things happen.

·3 years agoIf you opened a case through Pay Pal, contacting Ebay CS won't do any good.
Once you opened a case through Pay Pal, Ebay is done with the case and won't be any help.

·3 years agoHeck, I remember being a kid and really wanting the big popular toy that year. Since it was popular, it was backordered, so my parents just printed out a picture of the toy and put it in a box and explained that because so many other little girls and boys all wanted the same toy, it was going to take Santa a little while to get them to all the kids who wanted them and to just sit tight and wait because Santa promised them that one would show up. Kids can absolutely understand something like that if you explain it to them the right way.

·3 years agoI have done this when my children were young. I’ve actually done it a couple years ago and they’re in their 30’s. Seemed like a good solution and it works.
