Customer Service Just Repeats "Policies" and Does Not Listen to the Actual Customer
I have been both a buyer and a seller for 23 years. Never, have I ever gone through an experience with eBay the way I recently had to. Three items I bought never arrived. USPS said they did. I have a Ring camera and nothing arrived, at all, on the day in question. Not even my regular mail. I opened cases and communicated with the sellers and told them I know they sent them, that this is just a problem with the very shoddy work habits of the Chicago USPS system. Sellers were helpful. Ebay found in their favor as I expected but then refused to look more into the matter when I appealed. They advised I "file a claim with the postal service," which, if any are from Chicago, they'd know is a useless gesture as the bureaucracy does not even allow you make your case that way. I asked ebay to step in and refund my money under the money back guarantee. One customer service employee said they would and gave me a case ID and then nothing. At all. I called back and EVERY rep I dealt with just repeated platitudes about "policy" and claimed I had to deal with USPS or my bank. They occasionally admitted that, yes, the previous rep lied to me about getting my money back but, other than that, just repeated "policy" statements and essentially told me to pound salt when it came to getting my money back. They also, shockingly, encouraged me to contact the sellers more. The sellers did nothing wrong and I asked them to please stop trying to pit buyers against sellers as I, myself, am a seller, too, and what I want is eBay to step in and honor its money back guarantee. It was a disgusting experience. I guess the eBay that cares about its customers that I once knew is dead and gone.

·2 years agoEbay doesn't accept video or photographic evidence in cases. It's too easy to fake. What they will accept is an official statement from USPS that the package was addressed to an address other than yours. That's the fake tracking number scam detailed in ittybittynot's post.
If, however, the package was correctly addressed and simply mishandled by USPS, how is that a problem that can be addressed by either eBay or the seller?

·2 years agoI have lived in Chicago since I took my first breath, and while I do tend to have a strong dislike for many postal workers here I've never had any problem filing a claim, and I usually get results because I politely harass them until I do... at any rate, if your packages say they were delivered why would you expect a refund without any evidence to prove they weren't delivered to you?

Any time you file with eBay for ITEM NOT RECEIVED, and there is tracking that says "delivered" you are going to lose. eBay does not care that you didn't receive anything and the Money Back Guarantee is going to be a giant FAIL. It won't matter if the tracking shows the parcel weighs 2 ounces, when your item should be over ten pounds. It won't matter if the tracking was initiated before you even paid. NOBODY IS GOING TO LOOK. If you move on and file with PayPal if you paid that way or your credit card, and keep up with the item not received claim you are going to lose again.
All that will happen is that the Pal or your c.card will submit the claim to eBay, eBay will respond with the same (likely fake) delivery confirmation and you will still lose. Do what the others have said, take your eBay tracking info to the post office, have them write down that the parcel was mis-delivered OR was not intended for you in the first place. eBay will never check. As a victim, this is going to be up to you.
The same thing happens here almost every day. Find out if the parcels were not intended for you and then start the process for claim "fake tracking scam". ·2 years agoWhat we're saying @j_yoders is those labels on the packages don't have your name and address on them.
Go to any post office (they're all on the same computer system) and ask that agent-in-charge to check the labels, if they are some other name and address. If that's what happened, you'll need proof in writing -- simply saying your tracking numbers were not addressed to you, as the actual address cannot be disclosed.
That would explain why your camera didn't see the delivery, because those not-your-item-inside packages were delivered to a drugstore or a gas station, to that nearby address on the label and not to you.

Also about the size and weight of the packages?
You could be the victim of the fake tracking number scam.
I would not trust the sellers until I confirmed the info for the above 2 questions is correct
