Counterfeit Trading Card Purchased on eBay

I would like to share my experience with a recent purchase in order to warn other collectors.

The card I received was later inspected by KSA Certification (a professional authentication service) and was officially confirmed as counterfeit.

The inspection report states that the card is a reproduction with pixelized printing, incorrect color separation, and inconsistent card stock compared with the authentic Bandai version.

Collectors purchasing high-value vintage Bandai Yu-Gi-Oh cards should be cautious and consider independent authentication when buying similar items.

I hope this information helps other buyers avoid purchasing counterfeit collectibles.

You can walk in B&M store and walk out with a counterfeit item unless you’re an expert or someone with you is…even in this case nothing is bulletproof…no surprise many counterfeit items sold online..you have an option not to buy…

100% agree with you. Counterfeit items seem to appear much more frequently on eBay than before.

As you mentioned, based on many user reports, the platform has become more difficult to navigate. Many disputes now take longer to review, and sometimes the outcomes don’t feel fair. People often have to spend extra time explaining and providing evidence because initial decisions can be incorrect. Hopefully the platform can continue improving the review process to better protect the community.

Your not supposed to name names here. The mods will remove it. You can't always go by those services. I know someone who removes cards from slabs and sends them in for grading again. Most come back with a higher grade than they fires received.

Naming and shaming isn't allowed.

If you received a fake item, go to your order and open a return for "not as described."

The seller will have 2 options.

1. They have to accept the return, issue a prepaid return shipping label and upon receipt of the return, issue a full refund.

2. They can issue a full refund without requiring you to return it.

If the seller doesn't respond to the case in 3 days, you go back on day 4 and ask ebay to step in. You'll get your money back.

There's no need to "warn others," and in fact, it's not allowed.
