Counterfeit Morning Kick
Summary: The discussion revolves around a buyer's complaint about receiving a counterfeit product from a seller. veldt99 supports the idea of sharing such experiences, arguing that it provides useful consumer information. kathiec counters by highlighting that community guidelines prohibit "naming and shaming" due to fairness and potential legal issues. soh.maryl questions whether the situation is more appropriately categorized as an "item not as described" case rather than "item not received." stainlessenginecovers warns buyers to be cautious about unusually low prices, suggesting it should serve as a learning experience.
Buyer beware. I thought I had found a great deal on Morning Kick by Roundhouse Provisions for under $30. The retail cost is $49.95. I had just finished using the product and was excited to continue use once I received my shipment for Seller [Removed by Moderator]. When the product arrived, the container looked slightly different but it had all of the same markings including the trademarked logo. I was suspicious when I opened the container and saw a very light green powder that smelled like green tea. The original has a darker green sugar like consistency that smelled like lemonade. I mixed the powder with 8 oz of water and tried a sip. That's when I knew I had been duped. This is not what it claims to be.

Really? This thread is not that old.

·3 months agoSomething that is selling for 40% lower than normal has GOT to give you a clue.
If not, learning lesson. Things are NOT sold at 40% below what they are selling for, currently/elsewhere.

·3 months agoWhy is anyone here criticizing this buyer for sharing a buyer-beware mssg/review re: a seller passing counterfeit product? wth?
The more 1st hand info we have as consumers, the better.

·3 months ago · EditedThis is ask questions and for advice. Regulars already know information about what to do when a buyer receives counterfeit products and pretty much know what the OP is talking about. It's complained about a lot. In addition this thread is 5 months old. The OP is long gone.
kathiec
·3 months agoNo one is criticizing the OP, merely stating that the Community guidelines prohibit "naming and shaming" other members. There's a very good reason for this rule: It's not fair and has potential legal implications to allow someone to state things about a member that may be false and to which the member in question doesn't have the ability to refute.

·8 months agoYou don't need to post a thread about buyer beware of item. You can just return the item as others stated. File a case and return the item. Yes Ebay does have sellers who sell counterfeits which is why you as the buyer have rights which is to return for refund.

·8 months agoYou paid well below retail cost, got container that look different, became suspicious based on color and smell, but still put it in your system…you’re a lucky person…looks like there is a special place that protects, to some point, people like you…this is better than YouTube funny videos…

·8 months agoI looked at feedbacks and some were so-so.
Would I have bought this?...Probably not.
The seller feedbacks are mostly automated feedbacks...I have to say some buyers when the item does not live up to what it is supposed to be some buyers don't do anything...they might just throw the item away.
Some buyers have money to throw away.
Automated feedbacks are rather useless for whether to purchase from the seller or not.
The only one who gains from these automated feedbacks is the seller and eBay.

·8 months ago93.9 is a terrible feedback score. These seller feedback scores aren't like in school where above 90% means an A. I look for well above 98% myself.
Also I read a couple of the feedbacks for this seller and the complaints were for just what you described, fake product.
I must say you are braver than I, putting a substance in or on me that comes from a stranger online and not from the official website or an approved seller through that site.
In the future if you are determined to buy such product from strangers read their feedback first.
In your purchase history find this product and on the right dropdown menu return it as "Not as described". The seller has to provide you a return label and if they don't by day four ask eBay to step in. You'll get your money back.
Oh yea...it's against the rules to name the seller in these forums as they have no way to defend themselves, right or wrong........................

·8 months agoThen go to your transaction, use the drop down menu, and file an item not as described case. Seller is responsible to send you a return label, if he does not, on the fourth day, go back and ask Ebay to step in. You will be refunded.
