Counterfeit item return issues on eBay
Summary: ezdril shared a problem with returning a counterfeit item on eBay, where the return label was directed to a non-existent address, and eBay's support has been unhelpful. Suggestions from other participants included asking eBay to step in through the return request process, using alternative support channels, or disputing the charge with the payment source. ezdril expressed frustration attempting these solutions due to platform limitations and considered the seller's actions deceptive. Others clarified refund procedures and emphasized that eBay should resolve the issue based on tracking information.
I recently encountered a problem with returning a counterfeit product purchased on eBay. The return label provided was sent to a non-existent address, causing my package to be returned to me. Attempts to contact a representative through eBay's support system have been fruitless. The assistant suggested trying various support channels and reprinting or canceling labels, but I'm still seeking a resolution. Has anyone faced similar issues, and how did you manage to resolve them? Any tips for successfully reaching eBay support would be greatly appreciated.

·1 month agoIf the label was issued by Ebay, once tracking shows it was delivered, seller has two days to issue the refund.
It doesn't matter where it was delivered.

OP1 month agoThat’s the problem; there was no delivery, no such address, thus no refund. The package came back to me as “return to sender”.
If I could get an eBay human on the phone, it could all get resolved.

·1 month ago@ezdril Getting a human on the phone is probably not the answer. It is well known that those "humans" have no authority to close cases.
One point to clarify, did you file a "not as described" case or was it just a return for one of the other reasons?

·1 month ago · EditedI am typing this slowly @ezdril for all to
obeyread. On eBay, sellers cannot avoid a refund even if they were able to prevent the delivery of the return. When the return tracking says Return to sender, address unknown, no such number, no such zone,
we had a quarrel, a lover’s spat, etc. eBay will still issue your refund on behalf of the seller. It's automatic, no need to talk to eBay.pickapaper

If you used the Ebay returned shipping label that was provided and the package was returned to you due to a non-existent address/undeliverable, you can go back to your Return Request and ask Ebay to step in to help you:
Find the item in your Purchases.
See return details
Select Ask eBay to step in and help.
Select a reason from the dropdown menu, then select Confirm.
Good luck!!

Did the return shipping label come through your return request through ebay. That is, did the seller accept the return and provide the label through the claim?
If so, you can go back to the claim and ask ebay to step in, explaining in the text box that the shipping label supplied by the seller is invalid because the address doesn't exist.

OP1 month agoThank you for trying to help.
Maybe it’s because I’m doing all this on an iPhone, but after going to
Purchases, and
See return details
there’s no place to ask eBay to step in and help. It’s really frustrating.
eBay surely must know how shady this seller is: the item was listed as from an Oklahoma seller, but shipped from California. Then their return label was printed out (thru eBay) to Nevada.
Maybe they know the most likely way to not have to pay a refund.

·1 month ago@ezdril Has it been 2 business days since the package was returned to you? If not you need to wait that time to see if the above information is correct.

OP1 month agoThat should say “…causing THE package to be returned to me…”
