counterfeit item detected after i bought

i have bought some LG filters for my fridge and i was recently trying to use them and they appeared fake to me. Then i checked using transparency app and the code is not detected by app and that confirms filter is fake. i bought these filters some time ago more than 90 days and i am trying to see how i can get his resolved.

OP2 weeks agoThanks all for your valuable feedback. Just to be clear it was sold to me as authentic LG filter with packaging and all the branding mimicking the original LG even with the bar code and QR code. but these are completely fake. I understand i have lost the window when i could do anything..

At this point, whether you bought fakes or aftermarket is irrelevant because you're more than 2 months beyond the MBG time frame.

·2 weeks agoThere's a difference between counterfeit and aftermarket. If the filter was sold as and labeled that it was authentic LG, then it's counterfeit. But if it was sold as 'fits LG' it's aftermarket. That distinction will matter if you decide to dispute the purchase with your payment source.
Personally I use aftermarket filters with my frig and have no problems.

·2 weeks agoPlease reread what I wrote. I never said what you bought was LG. I just explained that how it was labeled, which you didn't disclose in your first post, will matter to your card issuer should you initiate a dispute.

·2 weeks ago@rajakhulla-0 If the code isn't found, then it is fake. Unfortunately you are past the 30-Day window you have to return an item. You can go to your payment source as @ryry-jj stated, but given you have apparantly used these filters and made no effort to return them during the return window, your bank or credit card may deny your claim from the outset. Worth a shot though.

·2 weeks agoFake or after market? I always buy aftermarket filters...and that is usually after I hit the reset button multiple times without changing the filters. Then when the water flow starts to slow I change out...I know TMI
But back to your post, too late with eBay and depending on what you really bought, fake or after market not sure how your payment source we interpret it
