Counterfeit fake designer handbags _ EBay does not take action in removing listing
Counterfeit fake designer handbags are still allowed to sell on EBay site even though it goes against their guidelines. I have reported a few counterfeit handbags. I provided brief explanation as to the reason handbag is counterfeit. All the counterfeit Dooney and Bourke vintage handbags I reported, I received the following:
Ebay’s response, “We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made by a customer service agent.â€
Who does EBay have investigating the listings of the counterfeit handbags? The individual is absolutely wrong! There were multiple things wrong with each of those counterfeit handbags. The person making the determination that the counterfeit handbags do not go against their guidelines (even after counterfeit handbag is brought to their attention) is grossly under qualified to make that decision. Due to that individual(s) incompetence, I will not be reporting any more counterfeit handbags because EBay does not choose to take the correct course of action. EBay is not keeping the site safe by removing counterfeit listings. Be very careful. Do your research. EBay is allowing the counterfeit, fake, junk handbags to be passed off as Dooney and Bourke.

·1 year agoYup! I reported 2 obvious fake LV bags and they messaged me back stating they found nothing against their policy! Wow! I'm done reporting and just gonna let the sellers sell fakes. Good job Ebay...

·2 years agoYou also have to make sure and select the correct category for the filing. I did this and selected the wrong category and was declined like you, and then I redid it with the correct category selected and it was approved. For fake/counterfeit items it should look similar to this:

·2 years agoUnless you purchased one and it's a fake, eBay won't remove the listing. The trademark owner would have to become a VERO member. Then eBay would take their report serous.
They don't know, you could be another seller just wanting to get others removed.

I believe you are correct. I spoke with EBay customer service and received the same response. Customer service representative was able to see the handbags I reported. I told him the multiple errors of those counterfeit handbags. I have done my part. I do realize there is the money back guarantee. That is only if buyer knows what to look for to identify the counterfeit handbag. The counterfeit handbags I reported were the vintage Dooney and Bourke. Those handbags are definitely missing the sewn Dooney and Bourke label with serial number.

·2 years agoYou do not have to participate in the VERO program to force Ebay to remove an item that violates your rights. Any rights owner can file a take down notice, have their rights verified and the listing will be removed. The only difference is the ownership verification, a VERO member has been pre-verified as a rights owner and everyone else has to do it with each take down notice filed.

·2 years agoThe operative words here being "rights owner". So eBay is still not going to declare something fake based on member reports, unless one of those members owns the rights. Thus that doesn't pertain to the discussion here.

The short answer is no one. There are 1.7 billion listings on eBay on any given day. Tens of millions of those are items that can be counterfeited. Do you honestly think eBay can employ enough people with knowledge of each of those items to vet listings in real time? As for your report, it's your opinion vs the seller's. Ebay has no idea who you are, or if you're working with a seller to take down the competition.
What eBay does have is a very comprehensive Money Back Guarantee that enables anyone receiving what they think is a counterfeit to get a full refund.

OP2 years agoThe counterfeit handbags I reported are the fake replicas of the vintage Dooney and Bourke. The duck emblem is glued on after handbag goes through customs. There were multiple things wrong with the handbags I reported. Those handbags are definitely missing the sewn in Dooney and Bourke label with serial number.

·2 years agoReporting listings with counterfeits or other violations are expensive, and usually ineffective because the people charged with trust and safety issues are not processing such reports. You get someone who is not knowledgeable. It is not an accident.
