There were the good old days when you could get angry messages from people you out bid. Or messages saying you ruined their kids Christmas by outbidding them.
Gone are the days when I could email a buyer and say - Hey that auction you just lost I have one of those for sale on ebay.
Sold many items doing that.

When you look at the bid history of an auction you see your username in full, but all other bidder's usernames are scrambled in the (a***b) format. They may see yours as (s***0) There is no way to link the scrambled ID / username to the real person so you can message them.

·1 year agoIDs are masked for very good reasons.
1) it prevents others that lost the bid from contacting the buyer with offers to buy.
2) it prevents others from saying something like you know that item is __________. (Use your imagination.)
3) Mainly buyers don't want a random person they're not in a transaction with to have their contact information.
