Constant emails from Ebay saying "Make an Offer" on every thing I look at! How to stop?
I am suddenly getting emails from Ebay telling me to make an offer on everything that I look at! How do I get these to stop?
I don't want to turn off any other notifications, just these.

OP1 year agoIt took several days, but the unsubscribe link finally worked, before it would not load.

·1 year agoActually as a general rule it is better to mark as spam then just delete all your spam from time to time.
On the Emails you describe from eBay unsubscribe probably works fine but on general spam it can generate even more spam coming from other sources.
I read this in a tech forum somewhere and since I stopped clicking unsubscribe and marked as spam instead my unwanted mail has dropped dramatically. It went from having to scroll down to see it all to just a very few....................

OP1 year agoThe problem I have had with that in the past, is that then ALL of my emails from Ebay wound up in spam folder. Had to go in and retrieve them daily and move to inbox.

·1 year agoYes eBay seems to be a different beast in that regard. At least they don't seem to sell your contact info. creating more spam.
As far as unsolicited spam in general though the approach I use seems to work.

·1 year agoIt’s eBay’s way to generate a sale. Does not cost them a thing, and make it difficult for us to ignore. Promotion, sponsored, etc

·1 year agoI do not believe you can turn it off.
I get unsolicited offers from on listings I have viewed and not watched. Often listings I have visited because of a post on this forum.
It is a deliberate attempt to try to make more sales to existing members by "targeting".
Etsy has announced it will be making similar efforts to target buyers.
Amazon has been doing this for some time.

·1 year agoIn the email there is a tiny link that says unsubscribe. Click it. I was getting flooded with these a couple days ago and it solved the problem.

OP1 year agoThank you! Will try that again. Last time I clicked on that I just got a blank page, nothing loaded.

If you open a listing you are interested in, then click on the rows of Sponsored listing photos in it, That is what is generating the offers you receive. Sellers pay an extra fee to have their listings Sponsored, so ebay does not give you a way to keep you from getting the offers. You can just ignore the messages or bulk delete them. Not opening Sponsored listings is the only way to stop getting the special offer messages.

OP1 year agoI don't mind the offer messages from sellers, heck I send those out myself! It is the Ebay generated ones on items that I click on when I am searching. Like the other day I was searching ipods for a friend of mine. Next thing I had an email from ebay "make an offer on this item you looked at".

·1 year agoNo, you can actually go into your email and turn them off by hitting unsubscribe. I did this myself and they stopped. I'm not sure if its a new feature but it worked for me just a few days ago.

·1 year agoYou can disable all "offers to buyers" for non-promoted listings in your Communication Preferences, but you cannot pick and choose which offers you receive.
Sponsored listings you view may generate offers you cannot avoid, though.
