Concerned of a new scam ploy from Chinese Seller
I recently placed an order from a Chinese seller based on the estimated shipping, (in hopes of receiving it before Christmas). I was amazed when I received such a quick tracking number. All in all, I received my "package" in just over a week. Amazing! No... I only received a letter thanking me for my order and assuring me the item may take some time to ship. The seller's feedback is is about 97% with a little over 700 items sold. There's only 2 negative feedbacks but that seems related to a damaged box. Nothing about not receiving an item.
eBay has changed a LOT since I joined in the early 2000s. I'm curious if this is a ploy to both stall and provide a goods receipt, (eBay now shows my item as "delivered"). Assuming the seller has done scammed people, wouldn't the feedback reflect that or has eBay evovled (devolved?) to the point of removing those if funds are refunded?
I reached out to the seller to ask where the physical items are. I'm eager to hear anything back but in the meantime, I wanted to reach out to see if I should just start a fraud case and not waste any more time hoping to receive these gifts for a Christmas present.
TIA!

·3 years agoThe same happened to me recently. I paid for a robot room vacuum cleaner. Got a tracking # and 9 days later I received a small 5"x7" vinyl envelope/card with that same tracking # on it. It had been scanned as Delivered. I opened a Item Not As Delivered case against the seller. The seller told me I could return the item but that they could not provide a return label. I messaged the Seller often and I think the many replies were from different people. One gave me a return address in China, undecipherable to me. The other person gave me an address in Peckville Pennsylvania (I google mapped the address and it was a nail salon). I called ebay and calmly explained the problem. I was told to return the envelope containing the tracking # to the return address in Peckville so I packed the small vinyl envelope in a small box and paid to ship it back to them. It was delivered 3 days later and I got a Refund from the seller. I left a Neg Feedback before I got the refund. P.S. I also got the robot vacuum cleaner delivered later but it was in a branded Walmart box from a Walmart warehouse. Completely different tracking number. I am a 21-year eBay seller with 23,000 sales and I agree that eBay is being taken over by fraudulent China sellers and drop shippers.

·3 years agoSince tracking actually indicated that you DID receive something, the case that needed to be opened would have been an ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED CASE.
However, as I read further, it appears that you received both a refund and the item you bought and paid for. Have you considered returning the refund to the seller?
