Coin that Ebay says was "delivered" was NOT! The package was, but no COIN!
I won a coin from [removed by moderator] on Ebay auction. I'm using real names because this is happening to real people by real people in a real company. I'm not saying that [removed by moderator] did anything wrong. I'm just stating facts as i know them. I won the coin at auction for 285.00. I paid for the coin. A few days later an envelope showed up at the house in my mailbox, that was ripped open in the back. No coin! This was the 2nd coin I won at auction from [removed by moderator] that did not make it to my house. Again I'm not trying to point any blame on [removed by moderator], other than that they are using the United States Post Office to send the coin, regular mail. And to add another note, I have purchased many coins from [removed by moderator] without issue or interruption in delivery. The previous coin that didn't make it to my address was sent in similar package, also ripped open on the back. Both times the package was ripped in the rear, not affecting the front with the postal label it. My postman didn't notice the empty package both times, as I've talked to him. I have cameras on my mailbox 24/7. Enclosed are the pics of the latest Envelope for the whole world to see. The first time Ebay satisfied their guarantee....after much back and forth and initially saying and wiping their hands, that the coin was delivered and that was that. Like I said Ebay made good for that coin. This time however, same situation, but different result. Ebay is refusing to make good on the coin saying that it was "delivered". No the package was delivered and the coin was not. And I have no ability to respond or call or talk to anyone about this. So now here's where I go public. How do I resolve, paying a lot of money for a coin that I didn't get? $295 is a lot of money to eat. BTW, this is the 3rd coin, out of hundreds, that I've bought from ebay. Yes, hundreds! Three coins in total over 20 years have not shown up when "delivered". All of them were from Florida vendors in Ebay. Beware of purchasing coins from Florida vendors, as while they are honest, the mail delivery, is not. And there are shady people in the mail system that are obviously aware of the coins being sent and watching for them. Now how to I get my money back, when Ebay leaves me no further way to appeal this case and there no longer is a Concierge to help?

OP7 months agoThere's no logo. The return address changes often. And again, I don't suspect anyone from the vendor side. As I have bought many coins from them. But there definitely is a suspicious arrow pointing at someone in the Florida postal system that is probably reselling these coins..... Who ever it is, He/she is way too cocky and should get caught.

·7 months agoIt maybe also at the point of destination, your area, that someone somewhere knows that something comes from Florida have a valuable merchandise inside the envelope…just a logical thought..🤷

·7 months agoTracking shows it was delivered, that's why you lose an INR case.
Ebay doesn't know it was empty when it was received.
Since you didn't order an empty envelope, it's Not As Described.
Go to your purchase history and click return item and select, the item doesn't match the description as the reason.
The seller will have 3 days to accept the return and pay return shipping or refund without returning.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

·7 months agoIf the coins were loose or poorly secured in the envelope, then they absolutely will be squeezed by the rollers at such speed the coins cut right out the back of the envelope. This also happens with card top loaders poorly secured in #10 envelopes and is why the envelope being uniformly thick is important. Sorting machines process 25 +/- envelopes per second, if the rollers hit a bump at that speed the envelope will almost always loose.
OP's issues are almost certainly the seller's poor packing jobs.

OP7 months agoFunny, the first time that's what i did assume. Not the 3rd time. All from Florida vendors....there has to be more than a coincidence here. Like I've said, i've ordered almost a few hundred coins from ebay, the only ones to disappear were from Florida vendors.

·7 months agoUnfortunately, Ebay treats all claims of item not received as invalid if there is tracking.
You should have made the reason for your claim, item not as described, and Ebay would have considered it, rather than it being automatically rejected.
You can attempt to open an Item Not as Described Claim.
You can dispute the charge with your payment source, a credit or debit card. If you used PayPal they will probably defer to the Ebay decision.

If you filed an Item Not received dispute and it was turned down by ebay, that is why you either could not leave a negative or had one removed.
After this happened with you seller the first time, did you let them know the envelope had been messed with? If not you should have and suggested that they send coins in a folded over card stock or heavier cardboard holder inside of an envelope so postal employees cant tell what is in it. A coin sent by its self in an envelope is an open invitation for thieves. You could have posted a photo of the torn envelope to the seller, in a message the first time it happened.

OP7 months agoI did let the vendor know the first time and they denied any responsibility of it. I wonder if i can find that piece of messaging going back and forth....If so I'll post it here. Both times, I sent pictures of the mangled envelope. The first time i went to the post office and got no where with them. I haven't bothered this time yet. So that's the racket. The postal workers know that there's no repercussion unless the postal carrier sees it and doesn't deliver the package. Cuz once the package was delivered the chain of custody changes and it's not the USPS's fault any longer. It's not Ebays. It's not RegistryCoins.....
RegistryCoins gave me no other option to mail the coins other than regular mail. BTW that also don't accept refunds....which in itself may say a ton.
