Catagories at top of listings now missing.
Why did Ebay remove the category from this area? It is now more difficult to navigate. Can no longer drop back down to the lower category. Ebay needs to put it back. I don't want to go all the way back to the shop by category drop down.

As a buyer it does not.
Ebay stopped considering the use by sellers in how they formatted listings or managed searches, a long time ago.

·1 year agoI'm sure that was ebay's thinking, buyers don't need to see categories, we'll just bury them.
As a buyer I abandoned a purchase just the other day for this reason. Was looking at a bulk lot of coins and hit BIN. Then when I went to pay was surprised to see I was being charged $17 in sales tax. In WA state coin sales are tax exempt. So I scrolled through the 100s of useless listings at the bottom and found that seller had listed the lot in 2 categories, coins & another non coin category so sales tax was being charged
Had categories still been at the top and viewable at a glance I would never have hit the BIN button, I was on the fence about buying that lot anyway and the extra $17 was a deal killer.
Anyway, the fact that ebay has buried the categories can be a pain for buyers as well

·1 year ago@harborauction Absolutely!! I'm in WA state too and I buy coins. I always check the cat because if it's listed wrong, we get charged tax.
Burying the categories is extremely inconvenient & a pain in the behind.
Please use the "?" at the bottom right of the item page to give feedback on this. This is recommended by WastingTime101 and if enough people complain, perhaps they will move the cats back to where we can actually see them.

·1 year agoeBay's latest update, burying crucial categories at the bottom of endlessly populating pages, is inflicting significant anguish upon sellers. The forced, unproductive scrolling through an ever-growing list of irrelevant items not only steals precious time and cripples workflow but also artificially inflates listing impressions, adding insult to injury for those striving for accurate categorization.

·1 year agoI had put this tip on the seller's board discussion, but I'll put it here too.
Go to the item's main page and on the lower left of the main picture, click on Have one to sell? Sell now!
The page that follows will have the category to view, and no endless scrolling. One problem: it places a copy of the page in your drafts folder every time you do this.

Another obviously Artifishy Inteligent suggestion to sell more items. Now while scrolling down to find the categories, you get to go past another 50 items You might like. Really? like anybody really cares when they are looking for the category list. To bad the people who take AI suggestions,aren't intelligent enough to know when AI is wrong.

OP1 year agoYou are right. It is at the bottom, if you can get to it. You scroll down and Ebay all of a sudden adds a bunch of suggested listings. You scroll down to get past those suggestions it add a bunch more suggestions. Ebay is making us work and it may run some of us away.

·1 year agoIt's been moved to the bottom of the page. The problem with that is the nearly infinite scroll as more and more and more and more and more ... sponsored ads appear before you finally get to that buried info at the bottom.
