Case closed for return and item isn't delivered. Should be able to use INR on Dec 7. (delivery date)
I bought a fairly expensive cologne lot 3 days ago, and the Seller said he would ship to me on Monday. He provided a tracking number on Saturday night and it says USPS awaiting item but he didn't ship it yet so, I sent him a message asking when he would send it and he replied, 'I came off as a scammer and had sold it to some else', So I went to Ebay to cancel the order and I opened a return request, to which the seller chose to decline it resulting in the case being closed. He said before closing the case that 'You'll get your money back in a week'. The case now says 'Esculated to Customer Support'. I can still wait until Dec 7. (expected day of delivery) and select INR or 'I Never Received' right?? I think I should be good because from what I've read, He has to provide tracking info proving it got delivered and as it stands now, it still says USPS awaiting item. Would like to hear what I should do?? I never received the item and just want a refund.

·2 years ago"USPS awaiting item"....means it does not have tracking yet. A seller can hit the "send" button but doesn't mean it got mailed once the "send" button was clicked by the seller.
Impossible to ship something on Saturday night or Sunday...USPS is closed and there would be no tracking until Monday probably end of day.
"Provided tracking on Saturday night"...but bought "3 days ago"....That I don't understand.
I don't know how many emails you sent to seller and not sure of the tone of the emails. I guess maybe the pressure on the seller by you seller decided not to mail it off on Monday. Plus seller sees your rather a new eBay buyer.
So seller decided not to send it on Monday. Seller has so many days before he has to refund you.
Usually it's about 4 days before a case can get escalated to customer support. I guess that may be when seller refunds you.

·2 years agoWhy would you file for a return when you haven't received anything to return?
After the estimated delivery date, open a case with Pay Pal or contact your credit card.

·2 years agoProbably because that's the only option that a buyer sees if they start the cancellation process when it's (1) past that first hour when they actually can request a cancellation; and (2) too soon to see the option to file an INR claim. Rather than investigating further, buyers (the OP isn't the first) forge ahead with the only available option.

·2 years agoYou should come for advice before doing anything. I understand that you tried to cancel the transaction, but what is that all about the return request when you have not received anything. Then you say that the case was closed but it now says it has been escalated. Was it an official response from ebay that such and such case has been closed. What did ebay say? Who escalated the case? Maybe I am just learning something new, but if the case is closed (officially by ebay) there is nothing to escalate.
It's hard to say what to do, when it is not clear what has been done so far. At least I don't quite understand that, hopefully someone will know better. I would wait until the deadline ebay set for their decision, if the current status is escalated. By doing anything at this point you would probably just confuse thing more.

·2 years agoDid you actually open a return case through your purchase history? If so, that's was totally the wrong thing to do. Once you've opened a return you can't then go back and open an item not received case.
If that's what's happened you have no further options through eBay. If you paid through Paypal you can open an INR case there. Or you can dispute with your credit card.
It must be mentioned that you fell prey to your own impatience. Don't worry so much about tracking, particularly over a holiday weekend. Just wait for your package, and if it doesn't arrive by the day after the last estimated delivery date open an INR case.

·2 years agoProbably not, because you already filed a return case, which implies that you have received the item. You should have just waited to see whether the item arrived.
