Can't purchase item listed
Summary: dypete is experiencing an issue with purchasing an item on eBay due to a lack of response from the seller, and automatic messages indicating they're blocked. mudshark61369 suggested that previous communication might have led to the seller blocking them, possibly due to questions about a discrepancy in the item's description and photo. Other participants advised moving on from the purchase as sellers have the right to block buyers and there's no further action that eBay can take in such situations. christworks shared a similar experience about blocking a buyer who seemed like a high return risk. The consensus is to find another seller for the item.
Can't purchase item listed. Has been posted for quite a while. Texted seller numerous times. No response. Would like to buy item. Will not allow me.
Any ideas?

·3 weeks agoI read about eight of your posts and I can see why the seller blocked you. They do not want to sell to you.
I literally just went through this with a buyer last night. I did not want to sell to them because I viewed them as a high return risk. I blocked them. They then made another account and bought the item anyway.
Guess what? That's buyer abuse. So I reported both of their accounts and cancelled their order. They also got a very strongly worded message from me.
When a seller does not want to sell to you, move on. You are not entitled to anything that belongs to someone else, and until you buy it, a seller's items belong to the seller. They do not belong to eBay nor do they belong to you. Neither you or eBay gets to tell a seller what they must do to an item and who they must sell to. The second eBay does what you ask, sellers will go elsewhere. Right or wrong, some are already doing that for other reasons. I doubt eBay wants to upset the seller community anymore than they already are.

·3 weeks agoAll this angst over a $9.00 used item? Move on and buy from another seller.

OP3 weeks agoI may have realized why there is no communication. I made an initial contact concerning the picture and description. This made the individual apprehensive. Once again, should eBay have reviewed post? You cannot contact seller unless done through eBay site.
Item number 146726448451. Look at picture of item then go to item description by seller.
Two different items.
Either individual is poorly educated on the difference between the two or not being forthright on the sale.
Still no response from eBay.
Any ideas on how to deal with eBay or seller ? "Led down the primrose path by both" Very duplicitous!

·3 weeks agoWhy would you want to deal with a seller who is either poorly educated in your opinion or not forthright?

·3 weeks agoIt's not EBay's job to try to figure out the listing. With 2 billion listings on the site can you imagine them having to deal with every inquiry? While you still haven't told us what the message you received when you tried to buy said, it seems likely the seller, as you said, was apprehensive and blocked you. Sellers are allowed to block anyone for any reason, or no reason at all. Nothing you can do but move on and find the item elsewhere.

OP3 weeks agoI believe that something posted by a seller purchase is responsible for what they are advertising. It should be EXACTLY as the picture and description. Faux Pa on this seller's part.
Yes, eBay reviews each ad or post.
You are stopped in exchanging information ( telephone, email) until sale is complete. Then seller gets your information. Oh yes, whether it be via AI or word in your message to seller that "toggles" them a message over the transaction. It has occurred to me twice in the past. eBay wants their cut ($$$$$) even if it's a question that is beyond eBay's comprehension. It may require "direct communication" to resolve issue(s) you may have. eBay wants its cut. They think you're changing the price. It's sad. I never sell anything on eBay . All my transactions are purchases. If they have rules, they should abide by them. Please don't be fooled, they watch all transactions. They are watching and protecting their organization. It's nieve to think otherwise.
My opinion.
Thanks for your input.

OP3 weeks agoI was told seller will not sell to me.
I asked a question in a message.
The individual realized and "blocked" me from the purchase.
Individual realized.

OP3 weeks agoBTW
I questioned the individual over the discrepancy. Photo vs. verbal description. When you deal with electronic equipment, just because it looks the same and it's a charger, does not mean it's correct. It could damage your device. How many devices have AC/DC adapters in your home?
They are not all used to power all the devices in your home. Different voltages, amps, etc.

·3 weeks ago · EditedSounds like you are on the list and if you are you have been delt with and nothing more you can do.
Picture shows a NC-9B Yaesu Musen Co., LTD.
Item specifics says its a Yaesu NC-26B
Description says its a YASEAU NC-9B
Look like maybe they use the Sell Similar function but did not correct the information that was not correct. This happens when you copy another person listing.
I would not buy it without the correct description.

"My buying history has been perfect since I joined eBay. 108 purchases".
Ever since 2008 buyers have not been able to receive anything but positive feedback, so your 100% rating is shared by non paying and scammy buyers. Your repeated attempts to contact them may have gotten you blocked by them which which would include your message as well.

OP3 weeks agoThanks to those that have replied to me. I attempt to purchase the item listed. Auto response is that seller will not sell to me. Never purchased from this seller. My buying history has been perfect since I joined eBay. 108 purchases. All have worked out .
Cannot contact seller. No response.
eBay of no assistance.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

·3 weeks ago@dypete ,
Are you messaging the seller with an Offer? If you are does the listing have a Best Offer option on it? That is how you send offers. If it does they may feel your offer is too low to accept.
If the listing doesn't have a Best Offer button they are probably ignoring your messages.
It is also possible you made a previous purchase from them and things didn't go well, or they looked at your feedback profile and saw that you've never left one for any of your sellers.
Are you receiving a notice when you try to contact them?

What message do you get when you try to purchase? What is the item? Is the seller in the US?
