Cancelling Order
I recently puchased a softball bat for my daughter. When I contacted the seller they said that the bat was purchased last month and they didn't know why it was still showing as available. Now I am struggling to get the money cancelled. Has anyone had this happen?

·2 years agoThe seller is actually better off having the buyer make a Not Received claim and refunding promptly, since the Out Of Stock cancellation triggers a Defect on the seller's account.
EBay does not seem to be at all interested in why these "ghost" listings have been re-appearing for decades.

·2 years agoYes sellers have had phantom listings for a decade or more like that.
The seller can just cancel the sale and refund your money. It is two clicks.

·2 years agoThe seller should cancel as out of stock to trigger a full refund @moncro49 . If they don't do that, you can file a non-receipt claim after the latest estimated delivery date to get a refund. Instructions here:

·2 years agoBuyers can't cancel an order. Report item not received. This is the sellers problem, not yours.

·2 years agoOf course, you're not the first person who has had this happen, nor will you be the last.
Tell the seller they need to cancel immediately so you can be refunded. If they don't, you can report them to eBay or you can just wait til the last estimated delivery date and open an item not received case.
Please be aware of your options.
