Cancellation/Return
I requested to cancel an item which I no longer wanted because I realized it was not genuine and not worth 750 dollars. Now the seller has shipped the item. I need to return it and have submitted the return request. The buyer says he will accept it. I cannot return since I am not at home until next week. I'm really stressed out here.

Read what I posted yesterday, and open the USPS link. My guess is the seller decided to have USPS intercept the package while it was enroute, instead of letting it be delivered, so they charged that fee and the return shipping cost which also has to be paid when a package is intercepted.

< have USPS intercept the package so they [the USPS] charged that fee >
You figured it out. I thought the OP was telling us that the seller charged a "fee" for cancelling the order. Your explanation makes sense. Thanks for tagging me.

I think that not only do we have an inexperienced buyer, but probably an inexperienced seller as well.
I didn't think about this until a few minutes ago, but if the item was sent with signature confirmation because of its cost, as it should have been. The USPS would have held it for 15 days after leaving an attempted delivery slip. I don't think the OP knows that either.

·11 months agoSo the seller requested an intercept of the package and charged the buyer for it?

Is the seller in the U.S.? Are you sure he even shipped if he didn't give you a tracking number? If the item was $750 or more, he also should have sent it with tracking plus signature required (eBay's rule) so that you would have to sign for it upon receipt.
If the package arrives, do not refuse it. Accept it and then if you are still not happy with the item, file a return claim for "item not as described" to return it. He will have to send you a return label to return it and when he receives it back, he will have to issue you a refund. If he does not, after 4 days, you can ask eBay to step in and they will force a refund.
"Just wanted to get this whole situation over with". Unfortunately, these things take a bit of time. It isn't a quick thing that is over in a day or two. You have to follow proper procedures if you want your money back.
P.S. The seller duped you out of $35.00. That money is lost.

You really have jumped the gun on this. Unless you have absolute proof of the item being counterfeit. As it is you do not know that for sure, and that makes you responsible for the return shipping as a Buyer's Remorse return.
Had you gone to the USPS site and had your mail and packages held until you returned from your vacation, then you could have filed a not as described dispute IF the item was a counterfeit. You would have had 30 days from the date there was a delivered scan to do that and the seller would have been responsible for the return shipping cost.
As it is, it seems your message to the seller scared them into having the package intercepted which costs $18.35 and returned to them, which would cost them the price of original shipping to have it sent back using the service they sent it Priority, with the ebay required insurance. Easily costing the seller near $35. Otherwise they could end up waiting weeks for the USPS to return it via their slow unclaimed package service. Which is probably why they wanted you to pay them for the interception and return.

You got scammed there and can't get that back

·11 months agoIt it's not as described, then you can file a not as described case. There is no shipping charges with that. If it's a buyers remorse then their can be. There is a time limit to return the item. It there someone else that can ship it?

·11 months agoIf the item is not genuine, the case should be a not as described return. Since you have not seen the item, that would have been premature.
If you opened any other return case, be prepared for a result which you will find to be disappointing.
You have already been suckered out of $35 by this seller, since you are not responsible for any shipping charges on a counterfeit under the Ebay MBG,
gosimus
·11 months agoI think I would make that an additional $35 ... just saying.

slow down, relax......
once you get the item, and if you believe it is counterfeit, there is a procedure to return the item.
You are covered by the MBG by simply (once received) go to purchase history and choose Return this Item. You will be presented a list of options...choose the appropriate response and submit. You will be advised by ebay a time frame to return (usually 21+ days)

You cannot "return" something that you do not yet have.
What date does the "accepted return request" show as to when it has to be returned?
That date is generally a couple of weeks out.

OP11 months agoI also PayPal'd the guy 35 dollars to cover the cancellation of shipping fee.

·11 months agoThis doesn't sound right to me.
Did seller make you do this? '35 dollars'....'cancellation'.
'seller has shipped the item'...when item arrives return it.
Is this item needing a 'signature' to accept?...
Tracking will give you more information when it is arriving and such.
And tracking will show if not at home of a delivery attempt.
Tracking will be your 'best friend'...
Depending on how it was shipped...USPS, UPS, FedEx or ?....the web sites can give updates by just entering your email address for free.
I prefer to get my tracking directly with the shipping web site and not eBay.

There's no 'Cancellation of shipping fee' cost. Please return and tell us where exactly you are with this transaction. Breathe...
