cancel an order
I receive one note to ask me pay for an item which costs $85.00. I didn't order it. I tried to cancel the order, it would not let me cancel. Since I didn't order it, I will not pay. I have sent a few messages to the seller and ask to cancel the order for me and didn't receive a response. Would you help me to cancel the order? it is a plate which is made by Royal Albert for month plate. The amount is $85.00.

If the note you received was in your regular email, but not in your ebay site messages, Open your My eBay summary and if the item is not in your Purchase History, it is probably a phishing attempt, and you should not respond to it. If it is in your purchase history, you did commit to buy some how.
If you bid on the plate and were outbid, it is possible that bidder retracted their bid leaving you the winner. If you were sent an offer and you opened it, it can be easy to tap the wrong button if you use a small screen device to shop on ebay. If you place items in your Cart, it is possible to commit to buy all items in the cart if you are not careful. Always save items you are considering buying in your Watch List. Then, if later on you decide to buy, you can pay for it right from the listing page. You do not need to place items in the Cart to pay for them.

None of us on these boards are ebay employees, we are buyers and sellers just like you who try and help people when we can. Even if we were employees we could not cancel the transaction for you. When you bought, accepted an offer or bid on an item you entered into a contract with the seller, it would take both parties to the contract, to agree to cancel, and Sellers are not required to agree to a cancellation request.
If you do not pay for the item, you may receive an Unpaid Item Strike. If you do, one will not affect your account. However, if you should get another strike in the next 12 months, you will not be able to buy from the majority of sellers that have set up a Buyer requirement that, Automatically blocks buyers who: Have received 2 unpaid strikes in the last 12 months. Strikes time out after 12 months.

You or someone that used your account made the purchase either through winning an auction or used the Buy It Now or made a Best Offer, because you tried to cancel it since you stated "it would not let me cancel".
No one here can help you cancel the purchase.
If you feel that your Ebay account has been hacked, you can report it so that Ebay can investigate.

·2 years agoMaking a best offer or doing an auction might be probably why eBay is asking for payment.
You would have to email the seller to cancel the sale.
