Can I turn off offers that I receive on items that I have looked at but not watched ?
I don't get emails thankfully but when I login there are notifications about offers for items that I just looked at. Is there a way to turn this feature off. I understand for things that i am watching and interested in but not just looked at the page. Thanks in advance.

路Jul 11, 2026 at 8:04 PMI don't need or want those emails from eBay either just for looking. I also dislike those ones asking me how I am enjoying something I bought a month ago, or offering me special deals to 'improve my ride' ... I haven't driven since 2012!
It's just data collection ... they don't really care if I like the item or not. A total waste of bandwidth and they all go to trash immediately.

路Jul 11, 2026 at 8:37 PMI get three mailers a week asking to fix my windows, gutters or lawn. But I am a renter, so that's something my landlord deals with.
I throw them in the trash and move on with my day.
Just the same, I ignore offers about items I have no interest in buying. It's pretty easy to do.
Every now and then there's an offer for something I actually do want to buy, and I think that makes it worth it.
Your mileage may vary.

I do not believe that clicking on a sponsored listing adds to collected data, since the sponsored items are all in the same basic category as the original listing you were viewing. Most of them being the same item offered by other sellers.
I open my messages once a day usually right after I logging in, and delete the ones I'm not interested in. But I do like seeing if an offer is a good one sometimes 20% or more off an item.

If you click on the Sponsored listings that are on a listing page, that will generate an offer being sent once a certain number of people have clicked on the item. Sellers whose items are Sponsored paid an extra fee to get the increased search visibility so there is no way to stop receiving the special offers except not to click on the Sponsored listings.

a sponsored post eventually get spam offers sent to a certain number of users once the threshold of views is hit? also does everyone that clicked get the offer ? or just me who hit the threshold number 馃槄

Since it is the seller who decides on how many views trigger the offer(s) to be sent, if they have the threshold set to (1) You would get the offer, and the message might not say "Be the first to accept the offer..." unless someone else looked at it on the same day and received an offer.
