Buying problem - tax reasons
Hello,
I want to buy an item from Italy and I get this message:
For tax reasons it is currently not possible to buy from this seller. We apologize for any inconvenience and recommend that you search for similar items from other sellers.{e243735-1269885x}
I am from Croatia, so both of us, buyer and seller are from European Union.
I dont knot what is wrong and Ebay is not responding on my question.
Can someone help?

·1 year agoThat means that eBay has asked the seller to upgrade their private seller account to a business account and provide a VAT registration number, but the seller has not done that. It's not clear if this is a new requirement by eBay, or if the request has been made in error.
Here's a thread that was started by one of the sellers affected by this, and a bunch of other EU sellers are discussing it, but so far the issue has not been "solved". Possibly, the sellers just need to comply with the request and upgrade their accounts.

The same error message when buying was reported 2 to 4 years ago, for some sellers in the UK and Germany, so eBay may now be reviewing other seller accounts in the EU.

I have read in the past that it could also be that the seller has blocked you, or does not sell to your country (perhaps that is not possible in the EU)?
