Buying Ink Cartridges For My Printer
I don't know if this is the right forum but it is as close as I could find.
I am so tired of spending time searching through listings that aren't what i am looking for. Today I needed to purchase Black Ink for my printer. I searched for HP 62 Black Ink Cartridge. I received 4200 results. The very first listing was for an off brand ink refill kit which has nothing to do with what I requested. On the first page only 26 listings out of 60 were for HP 62 Black Ink Cartridges. Of those 26 at least half of them were two years or more past their expiration dates. I tried the second page and it was worse, there were only 23 that listed HP 62 Black Ink Cartridges. By now I am angry but I keep looking. The next page had only 19 listings that were actually what I requested in my search. I ended up checking 10 pages the total number of listings was 600 and only 172 of them were for my HP 62 Black Ink Cartridges.
If I am searching for a specific brand for a specific printer in a specific color and only in cartridge form, why would eBay think that I want to see 428 listings that were either the wrong brand, the wrong color, for the wrong printer and in the wrong form? Of the 172 listings that were for my actual search request most of them are either expired, some as long ago as 2017 or they don't list the expiration date at all and you have to message the Seller to see if it is expired.
This is because the Sellers are not filling out the item specifics correctly and no one is policing it. What good are the item specifics if they aren't truthful. A lot of Sellers have been saying their sales are down. I am sure many categories are just as big a mess as this one is. This is probably why. Who has time to wade through a
bunch of junk that isn't what you are looking for? This is a terrible way to shop eBay!!! Why don't you do something about it?

Found the same issue when I had to purchase ink before buying my rollo! Search is a mess!! I understand your frustration. Never could find my exact model, and was leary about purchasing anything that wasn’t HP, knowing those printers can be very finicky about off brand and search results are at best, not efficient.
Had 2 different models of HP printers, one using 61 and another using 65 and I liked the XL because they do last much longer.
Found https://www.ebay.com/str/thegreensky and took a gamble on their “compatible†hp ink (if you’re still looking). So happy to find them. I ordered both 61XL for one printer and 65XL for the other. This seller shipped fast and I never had an issue with compatibility. Ordered from them for several years before I upgraded.

When I had a printer that required ink cartridges, once I found a seller who had a price that was satisfactory to me as well as fairly quick shipping, I just did "save this seller'" so that I could find him again when I needed to order ink cartridges again.

No one is going to argue that ebay's searches are messed up. Were I to search for an item that I know or find that have hundreds or even thousands of listings. I go to ebay's advanced search. When entering a search there Just under the keywords box is a Keywords options box. Which allows you to search using Exact words exact order and 3 other options.
On search results pages I also check filters in the left hand column to lower the number of results. For something like Ink Cartridges, I select Item location: U.S. only, even then I check feedback profile pages and listings for signs of China based sellers.
