Buying from abroad (out of USA)
Hello,
I would like to order an item on ebay.com and ship it to EU.
Throughout the process, I give my address, I pay the international shipping fees, and receive a check-out confirmation with my address.
Yet, the seller receives a shipping label with a US-based address.
How to make sure the shipping label has the right address ?

You are registered as being in France if you have a U.S. address for a freight forwarding service who will forward the item to France, they are who has your address in France.
If the listing's shipping details says the seller will ship directly to France, then you need to add your French address to your account. You go to your My ebay page look in the upper left for Account click on it, select Addresses (you will be prompted to log in but will be redirected back to that page) Once there you add your address in France and at check out if you are seeing your U.S. address under it will be a message to change it. click on the message then select the French one, and that is the one the seller will see and ship to.
If the seller's shipping details does not show that they ship to France they will only receive a U.S. address.

·3 weeks agoIt appears that your seller is using eBay's EIS (Ebay's International Shipping) - the item will be shipped to eBay's domestic shipping hub, from there, the package will be forwarded to you.
So, the package will show that it is going to either Glendale Hts, Illinois or Commerce, California depending on what country you live in, while there eBay will inspects/re-label it, and handle customs and international transit.

OP3 weeks agoOh, the seller indeed had a shipping label for Glendale's hub!
We both didn't understand why, so I cancelled the purchase and reordered the item with another shipping method (USPS First Class Package International) just in case...

·3 weeks agoThe seller didnt know why? You two complicated a simple transaction, especially if there needs to be a return. Hopefully you receive the item without issue.
For a seller to use eIS and not know how it works, but then to expect to know how to properly fill out custom forms to ship internationally on their own, is a head scratcher
