Buying a game account
I was looking on EBay for a ton Clancy rainbow six siege account,I found a seller I found promised me he would hand over the details and that I would have full access. I also made sure he said that I would receive an account with the images he sent over. After I purchased the seller gave me some Xbox account details. I tried logging into Ubisoft with the details but I came to a stop as the account had 2fa and required a code or message(sms) to log in. I asked the seller and he’s told me to wait. I’m not sure if he’s trying to do any weird scam but the item is eligible for refund but I would rather receive the item I ordered. It’s only been around 12 hours since the purchase so should I keep waiting or do something?

·5 months agoMost of those companies don't allow their accounts to be sold. I suggest you just open one yourself.

OP5 months agoEBay does not prohibit it but the game company’s don’t tend to like it, a refund takes a couple days at most and I don’t know if the guy has even scammed me yet. It was only 30 bucks so it doesn’t mean much anyway.

Game accounts can't be bought/sold, they are owned by the game company.
There's a good chance the account would shut down.

·5 months agoAs @kensgiftshop stated, it’s likely the account will be shut down (Roblox in particular is very aggressive in doing this).
Depending on how the item was listed, and in which category, you might not be eligible for a refund. If it was listed in digital items or as a classified ad, those don’t qualify for the money back guarantee. Many sellers, though, incorrectly list digital accounts in the video game category that’s for physical games, and those would qualify for the MBG.

OP5 months agoFor the most part that’s wrong game accounts can be sold whether the owner of the games like it or not. The account has a chance of being shut down but that has barely ever happened on the game account I purchased

I haven't seen one where they allow the accounts to be sold.

·5 months agoWe’ve seen multiple posts on the boards of someone buying an account and it getting shut down. It happens all the time. And we probably only see complaints from a small number of people who are running into that issue. Typically only a small number of people bother to complain about problems.

·5 months agoI wouldn't have done that deal at all. You have to wait for a refund so now you know the issues purchasing accounts which I believe is prohibited on Ebay anyway.

You have posted your questions on ebay's U.S. based site's Community, but I see that you are registered as being from the U.K., While ebay's digitally/electronically delivered goods policy is probably the same in both countries, you should probably post your question on their U.K. based site's community " www.ebay.co.uk ", since there may be minor differences between them. If your seller is based in the U.S. Ubisoft's support for the U.K. may have different phone or online contact numbers or addresses.

If your seller has a low or zero feedback number in ( ) after their username, they may not know about the policy or they could be a scammer.
