·1 year agoI came up against this a few years back on .uk
I gave up in the end and simply bought the item from a high street shop. Unless things have changed you had to have a credit card which I would imagine a high percentage don't. Many only having a debit card like myself.
I said at the time on the forum, why as a seller who in managed payments has registered a driving licence or a passport, is it still necessary to enter a credit card to buy a knife.

You are located in the U.K. but have posted your question on the U.S. based ebay site ( ebay.com) Because the verification process may be different you may want to ask how to verify your age on ebay's U.K. site's Community, using the link below.

It is also possible that if you tried ordering the chisel from a U.S. seller, if ebay thinks it is a knife, it may not be allowed to be shipped to the U.K.. Something else you may want to ask on its community.
Do you have a debit card with a Visa M/C logo registered with ebay as a payment method? If not registering one may work. If not do a Google search for " Age verification, eBay U.K. " there is info in the AI article that may help you. You may also have received a message from ebay that asks you to verify your age and gives you some methods to do that.

·1 year agoSince you're registered in the UK, you might want to return to that site and ask your question there.
Not sure whether or not the US eBay site has those restrictions.
