·2 years agoIf they can't give you the item number for you to look up on eBay then it isn't on eBay.
Beware of fake eBay links that lead to fake eBay pages. Alway check on the actual eBay site.

This is a fairly common scam that goes this way. You respond because the car is being sold at an amazingly low price.
The seller assures you that the sale will go through eBay for your protection, even though the car wasn't listed on eBay. All you need to do is buy eBay gift cards and give the #s to the seller.
The car will be delivered to you at the seller's expense for a 7-10 day trial period. If you decide you don't want it, you contact the seller and he will have it picked up.
Do you see how wrong this is? We see messages like yours quite often here and they include the guy who was busy cleaning out his garage for his new ride as well as the young woman who argued with us that this had to be a legit deal.
Those gift cards were redeemed the moment you gave the #s to the scammer. They are untraceable and nonrefundable.

If you found this car on another site, and the person is telling you eBay will handle the sale, it is a scam.
Do not send money or gift cards. There is no car, and you need to report the ad on the platform you found it.

As everyone has stated this is a common scam to get your money... there is NO car, you will be asked to pay by gift cards, and if you do, your money and the scammer will disappear in a puff of smoke.

·2 years agoPlease listen to us. eBay will NOT "verify this seller" because the seller is a scammer and is not really working with eBay. eBay just doesn't work that way.

·2 years agoNo, that's a common scam. eBay does not get involved in car sales transactions through other sites, such as payment processing or shipping. You should just stop communicating with this scamming "seller".
