Buyer Protection is Non Existent
Purchased an item advertised as Brand New with a third item damaged but included in the auction. When the items arrived all were damaged and the third damaged item was not shipped. Pictures were sent documenting the damaged goods and after much debate, the seller sent a return label. eBay immediately decided the case in my favor sent the refund and then retracted it the following day. After contacting eBay they confirmed that the seller appealed the decision, and removed my feedback and stopped the refund process. Now I am without an avenue to respond to a bad eBay decision and out the money. After 20-plus years on eBay, our buying days have ended for good.

·2 years agoSorry about lying to you @bikecussion as an appeal is strictly between eBay and the appellaticant [sic] and those details are not "posted in the case details" for you to see.
Completely stop talking to the seller and with eBay. To get your full refund, file another return request here if that's how you paid. Then when asked to return the items, upload the already-returned tracking number to get your refund.
But if that fails or otherwise to jump ahead, file a Credit Not Processed chargeback with your card issuer, and provide the already-returned tracking number to get your refund.
Why Would a Customer File a Chargeback With Reason Code “Credit Not Processed?â€
“Credit Not Processed†chargebacks are filed by customers who have returned their purchase but did not receive a refund from the merchant.

·2 years agoWhy are you giving the op a link to open a case? When Ebay has closed his case, and he cant open another one here. Of course the sellers responses are posted in the case details.

·2 years agoThe link posted by @qeqo_0 is to open a case through Paypal since that's how the OP paid.

·2 years agoSounds like you did not return the items or you didn't download tracking.
And leaving negative feedback is not the way to resolve a problem...for eBay or the seller to remove it...it must have not been nice.
And you also sell items...its actually a good thing the feedback got removed so other buyers can't read it.

OP2 years agoThat is not the case. I returned the item with the seller-provided return label, which by the way, accepted the return. Confirmation was received after the return was delivered. Took pictures of all before and after the packaging.
The seller appealed the case and had the negative feedback removed. This is the third negative feedback I left in 20-plus years. My responses are professional, without drama, and straight to the point. Leaving feedback is to protect others from bad actors

·2 years agoWhat reason did the seller use for the appeal?
bikecussion
OP2 years agoWish I knew.
Based on her other responses I think she told eBay that the planets were not aligned and the moon was in the second phase and therefore the sale did not take place

·2 years agoSorry to hear that, usually almost impossible for a buyer to lose a case, especially on an appeal by the seller. if the item was damaged on return he could have filed for UPS insurance, since he supplied the return label. Puzzling..
bikecussion
OP2 years agoExactly.
But if eBay continues to support bad actors, then the eBay Buyer Protection Plan is as useless as a screen door on a...............................
If this can happen to me after 20 years and 100% positive feedback then the entire eBay community should be alerted.

·2 years agoIt's actually very difficult for a buyer to lose an MBG case, so there must be more to this story.
Why did the seller appeal the case, and what was the reason for stopping the refund?

OP2 years agoFor lack of a better description I am dealing with larger-than-life "Karen".
Implied I broke it, the carrier broke it, it was new when it left, you should put a claim in with UPS, and the best, "I just replaced my furnace and I have no money for food"
So who knows why the story she told eBay?
After contacting eBay the second time they confirmed that she appealed the decision and I have no recourse to rectify.
eBay used to be fun and now I am running into bad actors who try to bang me by uping the shipping cost after purchase and selling damaged items.

·2 years agoThe seller's comments will be shown in the case details. You can see them there, in the case. What was posted there before or when she filed the appeal.

OP2 years agoThere was nothing posted after the seller accepted the return, sent the return label, and received the item back.
It took 6 days to receive the refund after eBay stepped in.
PayPay received the refund one day and the following day pulled it back

·2 years agoThis story makes even less sense now that you've posted the above.
Ebay is SOOOOO buyer-centric. If you had to request ebay's help in order to get the refund following the return, that's even less reason why ebay would reverse the decision.
I still believe we're not hearing the whole story.

OP2 years agoYou are absolutely correct. Nothing makes sense from day one and the seller has wreaked havoc by making outlandish statements. Who knows what she told eBay
That is the sequence of events
