Buyer protection
I'm interested in a listing that's near me and free local pickup is offered. Does Buyer Protection apply to a listing that shows the following: "Seller does not accept returns" & item is being "Sold as-is?" Thank you.

Local pick is like going to a garage sale ..if you like the widget you by it ,if you don't like it you don't buy.
Pretty simple I think.

·3 years agoI don't know why you would need to be covered when you inspect it to make sure it's working and is as described and if it is you pay, if it isn't you don't pay for it.
Aside from that the seller has to offer an electronic payment. If you pay that way you're covered. That is useful when an item can be tested, like a dishwasher.

I think you meant Can't be tested in that statement.
There are items like refrigerators dishwashers and other appliances that can't really be tested if not picked up from the seller's home where cycles can be run through. For those an electronic payment method may be the best way to go.
I've done a fair amount of buying and selling using local pick up, and there are ways some items, electronics and pneumatic ones can be tested even away from a seller's home. For some things I've bought or sold I meet at my local P.D. and they've let me use an outside outlet to demonstrate some items TVs and stereo equipment for example. I bring my own air tank for pneumatic items so I or a buyer can see that they work. If a seller balked any form of testing, I did not go through with the transaction.

If you select local pick up as the shipping method, you Do Not have to pay in advance of meeting with the seller and inspecting the item. You make arrangements with the seller to meet, you will receive a 6 digit code or a QR code that can be used to show ebay the sale was made. If the item does not match the description you do not have to pay for it. Read the info in the link below about buying local pickup items.

·3 years agoIf the listing shows the MBG, it doesn't matter what the sellers return policy is, you're covered.
