Buyer guarantee
I received an email from EBay 5 days ago saying that I had won my case and that I would receive a refund from eBay in 3 to 5 days. It’s been 5 business days since then and I’ve received no refund. Is there any way I can contact eBay about this? When I ask for help I get a response that I need to wait 48 hours—the same response I got when I first filed my claim. Is there any way to speak to an eBay representative?

OP7 months agoI heard from eBay. Even though they told me they would process a refund in 3 to 5 days they did not d so because it is a high value item and they want more time. Thank you for all your answers.

Refunds need to be ‘processed’ by TWO institutions before it’s back with the buyer.
eBay processes refunds within 48 hours after it has notified the buyer that they’ve been refunded. The rest of the processing time is taken by the buyer’s payment source … in your case, the bank with your checking account.
Contact your bank and ask if your refund is pending. It could take days/weeks to see it on your account. Every bank is different.

·7 months ago5 days ago...Monday at the crack of dawn? If not...then 5 days business might be next Monday and will be returned back on same credit card used(plus how fast or large your bank is...as to speedy or slow).

·7 months agoSo there are different Pay Pals...
There is the pay pal use with you use your debit or credit card through the Pay Pal Service.
There is a Pay Pal Credit Card.
And there is a Pay Pal Credit which has no plastic credit card you get.
I assume you used a credit or debit card through the Pay Pal processing system...which the credit returns back on the card.
I use all 3 forms of Pay Pal.

·7 months agoSo it returns to either the debit card or the credit card if you have both...I have both of one of my bank(s).
And not all banks are equal I am sorry to say...Bank of America is one that gives customers a not so happy experience sometimes.
And any small banks will take longer than 5 days sometimes.

·7 months agoDid you use balance in PayPal or credit card linked to PayPal?
The 5 business days starts at time of email.
For example email dated 2/9/26 1pm…
5 business days would be 2/17/26 1pm
5 business days is not 5 calendar days and does not include holidays.

OP7 months agoThanks. I got the email from eBay customer support on Thursday February 5 in the morning. So it has been more than 5 business days. Is there no way I can contact eBay?

Your refund goes back to your payment method so if you used a credit card, you'll need to check that account.
