Bought instrument for school, seller never shipped, ebay says keep waiting.
I need this instrument for school and it was listed as arrived buy the 19th at the latest. I messaged the seller twice to no response and then opened a ticket on the 22nd. Ebay says they will step in on the 28th.
I need the item now since I have projects next week that require it. I'm worried about buying another instrument though and then being stuck with 2.
Am I clear to buy another one or can he still ship it (it says no returns).

You were allowed to start an Item Not Received refund request on the 22nd
-- because it was past the last estimated delivery date, the 19th.
If your first instrument arrives late, you can close/eBay will close your Item Not Received refund request, then
-- go back to start a return request instead
-- using the item didn't match the listing return reason
-- because that's covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
So you will get a refund
1. on the 28th -- you have to ask eBay to step in, it's not automatic -- if it still has not arrived, or
2. after you return it with an "it's late" return request if it arrives before the 28th and eBay closes your case.

Make sure eBay escalates it on the 28th for a refund. You should look at claim every day to see if seller responds to you from the claim. And then on 28th make sure it goes through by eBay(escalation).
No returns from a seller does not mean no returns...you can return it but make sure you do the correct open claim when returning it.
The strange thing is if buyer doesn't do the refund on the 28th and has shipped the item out...you might end up with a refund plus the item.

·2 years agoUntil eBay steps in and decides, they still could ship. It would be risky for them to do so at this stage as eBay might or might not allow time for it to be delivered. They could go either way on that.
Mail order is not good when you need it right away.
