Both seller and ebay won't address an item I didn't receive--claiming tracking shows I did.
I didn't receive ordered items. Seller claimed tracking info showed it was delivered to me and wouldn't do anything. Sent a claim to ebay, the response was the case is closed as tracking shows I received it. I was lucky enough to get a copy of the tracking from our postmaster and it has a different name and address on it, a different order number, AND it showed a weight of less than a pound and the items I ordered weighed much more than that. Now, the seller has nothing else posted and when I click on information on my purchase, instead of 8 items, it shows only one. I can't reach anyone using the phone numbers I looked up for ebay using an internet search. What can I do now?

·1 year agoJust because they shipped you nothing doesn't mean you can't correct it. But, it requires you to actually do something.
What I have been mentioning for months has become the accepted practice by many to redress this: open an "Item Not as Described" request, take a picture of the document you have from USPS & list it in the request. When you get a shipping label, ship a copy of the document you listed back & a refund should be yours.
If you are denied a return label, then go about filing a claim with your payment provider.

You were lucky to get the tracking info and package type/size/weight from your postmaster but it needs to be on USPS stationary and signed by them.
When the dispute you filed was denied by ebay, in the message telling you that, there should be an Appeal button. If your note from the postmaster is on usps stationary and signed you can attach a scan or CLEAR photo of the note to an appeal. A live person will look at that and you will be refunded.

None of the numbers you find online for ebay customer service actually connects you to anyone associated with ebay. Those are operated by people phishing for your info. The only way to contact ebay is to scroll to the bottom of an ebay page look on the right under the Help & Contact header and click on contact us. You have to fill out some info and request a call back from ebay.
If the note is on USPS stationary and signed you do not need to call ebay's customer service phone number. Those customer service reps work for a 3rd party call/chat center, and those reps often give out bad information about the Fake Tracking scam, since it is not covered in the play book they read from. Get the signed note on USPS stationary and use the appeal button.
