Blocking Unsolicited Seller's Offers
Starting about a week ago, I have been receiving a ridiculous number of "seller's special offers". I am talking about ~30 a day. These offers are typically 1-5% off a (overpriced) Buy It Now item for a listing that I have NEVER even seen before. Not on my watchlist, not a listing I have looked at. I imagine eBay sends these to me based on what categories I have bought from in the past.
I can not seem to figure out why I started receiving these or how to block these offers. My "Bids & Offers" page is full of this unsolicited spam. I have all of my notifications and communication preferences set to ignore "Offers to buyers" yet I am still getting messages every time I get one of these "great deals", so my message inbox is now also full of spam.
Has anyone else experienced this or have advice?

OP3 years agoLooks like eBay fixed this issue, as I haven't received these offers for the past day. If anyone is still getting them, contact customer support and tell them you are affected.

·3 years agoI'm having same issue with offers for items I never put on my watch list. I don't mind receiving offers on watch list items but the rest is garbage to me. The problem I see is it may be a relisted item with a different item. I'm wondering? I seen one or two in my watch list and never put it on there?

·3 years agoIf I check my Messages Inbox it started for me on 4th Feb
There are clear differences between "spam offers" which start with
......Special limited-time x% discount on "Random Item Vaguely Relevant Item"
and "seller offers from watched or viewed items" which start with
The seller offered a special discount of x% on "Watched item"
On 6th Feb I got TWENTY of the SPAM offers so I am pretty **pi55ed** off

·3 years agoI suspect we are ALL suffering this... eBay clearly tweaked some setting. I can't find any "off" option and I want to receive genuine offers on items I watch or have viewed but I am getting offers from different countries or vaguely related crap. This is the very definition of SPAM and coming from eBay. Their own staff deny it or suggest switching off notifications which is NOT a fix.

·3 years agoSending a large number of offers to a large number of people really matters for a better result when offering only a very small discount on overpriced items.

Go to Buying Activity
Click Edit to Edit your buying notification preferences
Uncheck "Offers to buyers" (and any others for which you don't want notifications.)

OP3 years agoHi, thanks for your response but as I mentioned in my post I have already had that set to off. Besides, that should only block the notification, not block the actual offer. Regardless I am still getting spam in my messages.
